I think Ole Miss is pretty conservative.

Go to University of Michigan, it's a much better school

Isn't Ann Arbor more liberal than Berkley?

I graduated from MSU's College of Education in 1995. My answer to your question is a resounding YES.

Yeah. Someone said Texas A & M was as well. I wouldn't be surprised to find that some of those southern schools lean right.

I walked through "The Grove" a few days before the election. (Before the Auburn game). More Bush than Kerry signs.

State is a party school.

Every year, we have a huge party in Madison on Halloween. Upwards of 100,000 people in the streets. Two years ago, there was rioting and looting, accompanied by tear gas. Hardly anyone who was arrested that night was actually from the University of Wisconsin. Many of the arrested were students from Michigan State!

University of Michigan Law School has one of the largest Federalist Society Student Chapters in the country. The Federalist Society is ultra conservative.

There are some liberal professors, they are everywhere, but if you want a great education and don't want to major in couch burning, I will always recommend U of M over State.

BTW, the Wolverines will be playing in the Rose Bowl on Saturday.

I defer to you. My only experience is spending an evening walking the streets of Ann Arbor. I just loved the "Hate is not a family value" tags.

Around town you get the left over hippies. They are a mess.

I have no patience for hippies, we are getting a couple in my town and it's not fun. We had bumper stickers in my town that had the circle slash though a coffee cup and said ' no hippie sh*t in Grosse Pointe'.

Hippies, ugh. Now we have a Starbucks and a Caribou Coffee two doors down. It's ridiculous.

State alumnus here.

It's a liberal school, although not like U-M or Wisconsin Madison. Most MSU students are apolitical.

A lot of the politics depends on the department. The science classes I took didn't touch politics as all. I was a Poly Sci major and while most of them were lib, I only had one real bad joker I had to deal with. I also took a few classes there taught by Professor Bill Allen who is very conservative. If you are studying political science and can get into his classes, I recommend it.

Much more conservative than the University of Michigan, but probably 50/50, possibly 40 conservative/60 liberal.

No way. I went to grad school at the University of Minnesota, THEIR paper completely sucks. No good comic strips, and some of them are like 'boondocks' and 'doonsbury', not even a crossword puzzle, and the Police Briefs are much more boring than the State News.

Graduated MSU in 1991. Went through Army ROTC, wore my uniform around campus, and not one liberal remark. The only adverse reaction I received was from other guys, usually when they were trying to pick up women, like I was a threat to their masculinity by wearing the uniform.

Also knew the then-president of whatever the Gay Lesbian group was, and he knew me and my ROTC involvement. No adverse remarks were exchanged.
