One day, my cats were hungry and I didn't have anything in the house to feed them except raw bacon. They loved it! I continued to give them raw bacon each day and now it's their favorite food (they won't eat raw sausage, though). In fact, now they don't want anything else. I've tried different foods on them - vienna sausage, potted meat, canned mackerel, etc., but they want their bacon. Someone told me this might not be good for the cats, but they seem healthy. What do you think? I see cats on this sight sometimes when I surf, so maybe you know something here.
These kitties just love to eat raw bacon, while watching you on FR
My cat likes live bacon!
Yes, you are safe. Jim has not banned anyone's ass since I have been here. But you never know, you could be first.
If you want your cats dead, sure, feed them raw bacon.
No.
I recall the first post I made. Someone started a thread titled something like "How did you find FR". I posted that I simply did a google search using key words something like +starve +grandma +catfood or something like that.
Not one person thought I was a troll. In fact I received numerous positive responses.
Tacky, tacky. Did you just get out of the "home"?
No one "predates the need for sarcasm tags", old timer. If you really meant it to be sarcastic, then tag it.
I think you left off your tags.
K4
or off my meds?
That's kind of how we found out they liked ham. They were not the type of cats to jump onto the counter. One day an open package of ham lunchmeat was there during lunch time. One of the cats jumped up onto the counter and started to eat the ham. I was like 'woah'. Took the ham and tore it up and put it in their dishes and they all scarfed it up.
I don't know why I never gave ham much thought before. Their chicken and beef cat food must not taste like the real thing since they won't eat them, but they will sit in front of the oven and wait for chicken or roast beef and gobble that right up and look at you like, 'you gonna get me some more of that, or what?'
Missed this. Most definately. You can't open any can within blocks or they come running, thinking they will get tuna water. Won't eat the tuna though. Tried it when we ran out of cat food once. Also tried sardines and that was a no go. They all seem to have their own food taste quirks.
They seem to love cheese sauces like mac and cheese sauce and fettuchini alfredo sauce. We even had one cat that loved the seasoning on dorito's.
"I've been feeding my pet pigs raw cat....Can any Freepers with kind hearts help?"
""You could always try breast feeding your pigs.""
Ouch that hurt, it cut right to the heart. A left hook to the jaw and a right to the ribcage. Well done! :)
I think that's what it is. I read that you should feed them something salty now and then to encourage them to drink water. I also read that they need oil to help eliminate hair balls. Not sure how true that is.
I do know that we only gave our cat 9 lives once and never ever again. Poor thing. I had bought a four pack and the first time I opened a can of it, the oil just sloshed around so bad! I ended up putting the cans in the fridge to help solidify the oil so I could scrape it out and throw it away and then mix the cat food with their normal brand (fancy feast).
At the time we only had the one cat but he had to make so many trips to the litter box in such a short time. It got to the point where he would meow loudly then dash to the litter box, finally he gave up and laid down right next to his litter box to make the trip shorter. It was funny initially, but as time went on I truly felt sorry for him and told him I'd never buy that garbage for him again.
Only if they are Islamic cats.......
Merry Christmas!
On the other hand...maybe I can get the pope to help convert them...then, after the conversion, he could make them saints...then it would be ok to feed all of them raw bacon!
