I recall the first post I made. Someone started a thread titled something like "How did you find FR". I posted that I simply did a google search using key words something like +starve +grandma +catfood or something like that.
Not one person thought I was a troll. In fact I received numerous positive responses.
That's hilarious! I wasn't so lucky.
When Howard Dean just showed up on the scene, I decided to go do a search on any local newspaper or magazine stories that were done on him to shed some light on the way he was as a high school and college student, because I knew little if nothing about him.
Well, the story I found and posted was not unkind to Dean, suggesting that Dean, when a freashman in college, insisted on a black room mate back in the days when that kind of offering was considered "open-minded". It was also pointed out that he was a somewhat combative but fun-loving guy in college, staying up after the parties with the few remaining guys, swapping stories and philosophy of life ideas, and finishing off the keg! The thing I found the most positive (in my mind) was that in intra-fraternity touch football games, Dean, even though he is somewhat small, insisted on playing offensive line, doing the grunt work, thus getting his *ss run over a lot. So, the entire story was not critical of Dean at all, in fact he looked good.
Anyhow, after I posted it, and since I was relatively new, there were the usual web-nazis accusing me of being a "troll" and a "disruptor" merely because the story said some positive things about Dean. No matter how much I tried to convince these web sheriffs, they would not believe that I wasn't from "the other side".
In a way it is funny, but in another way it reflects poorly on FR, which I consider the best site of its kind in the world!
