Is it ok to feed my cats raw bacon?

One day, my cats were hungry and I didn't have anything in the house to feed them except raw bacon. They loved it! I continued to give them raw bacon each day and now it's their favorite food (they won't eat raw sausage, though). In fact, now they don't want anything else. I've tried different foods on them - vienna sausage, potted meat, canned mackerel, etc., but they want their bacon. Someone told me this might not be good for the cats, but they seem healthy. What do you think? I see cats on this sight sometimes when I surf, so maybe you know something here.

Bacon isn't raw.
The occurrence of trichinosis in commercial pork is nearly nil.

My cat is on Catkins. No kidding, he really is. High fat, low carb. It seems to be working, I can see some definition in his hips. He might be down to 23 pounds now.

It won't hurt them per se, but bacon is largely fat, which has very little nutritional value. They can't eat enough of it to get everything they need in terms of protein, vitamins and minerals. You might try supplementing it with two or three bottles of strong ale; something in the Sierra Nevada class.
