I know nothing; but I always thought that 'quakes generated waves.
As I understand it, unless there is a sudden shift in elevaton of the seabed above the quake, no Tsunami is generated. As I read the initial forecast, issued after the quake and before anything struck, the forecaster was very specific that no Tsunami was expected because historically, Tsunamis had not appeared from that location after such quakes.
I suspect he regrets that assumption.
You know what they say about assuming...
One of the very first management lessons I was ever taught.
Hope it all drys before a cold front!
She is doing mighty find for an angel!:)
I always feel RChina might of have a generation ELF hand in that!
These days, I rule NOTHING out.
I don't get the Sponge Bob thing either..but for his birthday next month the 4th grandkid is getting a SpongeBob bath sponge and a SpongeBog kid CD player that I found at Office Max.
What kind of digital camera did you get? My middle stepdaughter got a Nikon D70 just before Thanksgiving. IT takes wonderful pictures. Of course it helps if the pictuer taker has some talent which she does. She opted for the Nikon since she had a Nikon ( one that used film) before with w lens that fit the new camer. Sure is a big thing compared to some of the smaller ones., I wouldn't know where to start when shopping for one there is so much to consider and from which to select!
My first duty station was MCAS Beaufort. It was a nice base and I agree Beaufort is a nice little town and the surrounding area is interesting and pretty.Wealthy with history.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I just wrote you a letter in Fmail and lost it.. lol
I will do it again...;)
Anyway...So far I've taken a couple of test shots and got them downloaded to this puter...That was in question as this is not a late model puter...
So, I'm still trying to figure things out on it....Does look like it will take pixs good enough to suit me....LOL...Nothing fit for publication yet.....
.....Westy....
I've only flown into Charleston, but man, what history and beauty is there.
Don't have a water bowl for your cat? Yuck
Charleston is one of our favorite cities, right behind Washington, D.C. We love the architecture and church steeples and wrought iron gates and gardens. We nearly moved there but threats of hurricanes made us reconsider and now we're in a beautiful little town inland that Money mag and others have called one of the prettiest towns in America. And the town is filled with Republicans!
Close Westy - but you must remember I am like Holy Innocences born on the 28th.
Thanks a bunch anyway --- look after yourself.
FoxNews is now saying the quake magnitude has been elevated from 8.9 to 9.0.
Mr. Prairie was explaining to me that the Richter scale is logarithmic based so a move from 8.9 to 9.0 is much more significant than 4.9 to 5.0 for instance.
You know that I can't post my own pics - I justs
steals'em where I find'em...but as a cat owner of many years, I will tell you that kitties have some bizarre ideas of where best to take their water.
