GOOD MORNING HOBBITS!
HOTD, I don't know who does the project for the troops here but if you can get together with Guffy and Phancy, two Freepers from Ohio, who are engaged in writing letters and cards to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm pinging them over here so they can get together with you for the project.

Everytime I watch a LOTR movie I see something I didnt catch previously.
Last night figured out that when the Witch King is riding into Hobbiton and stops to ask the hobbit (the one who is outside his home with the barking dog who backs away into its home) where the Shire is and Baggins - that hobbit is the farmer Maggot. (Sam: "
You've been in the farmer Maggot's crops!").
I suppose ya'll knew this (I am not going to read back thru all these posts to find out!) but I caught it just last night.
Newgeezer, I got past the first level in Paths of the Dead, saved the game and went to play the Road to isengard. I completed that level, saved it and dang if it didn't delete the previous wins (Paths of the Dead). Arggh!!

AmeriCares is preparing emergency relief flights that will focus on bringing medicines and medical supplies, water purification treatments and other types of assistance to the affected areas. Reports indicate that more than 50,000 people have been killed by powerful tsunamis caused by a 9.0 earthquake near Sumatra. Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India have the greatest number of casualties, and the death toll is expected to grow even higher.
Your donation is essential and will be applied to relief efforts in this crisis

Emergency: Earthquake in South Asia December 27, 2004 In response to the earthquake and tsunamis that have devastated parts of South Asia over the past weekend, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is preparing to provide emergency assistance to people affected by the disaster. MSF is readying a full charter of relief supplies for the area of Indonesia closest to the epicentre of the earthquake.
In addition, MSF medical teams are on the ground in Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Myanmar assessing emergency needs and offering assistance. MSF field teams in all countries where MSF is present, including Somalia and Kenya, are also investigating damage from the disaster.

I received a Hobbit Hole knife this week. The few times I have used it, I was really amazed at the sharpness of the blade. I had no problem cutting plastic crating straps or nylon rope.
I like the blade design, and may use it for grafting and budding trees, as I have knives for general cutting. The straight edge, rather than a curved or pointed blade end, should be excellent for budding. The season for grafting is coming up starting next month. Budding normally works better in May & June. I'll give you an update later.

I have some questions for LOTR fans (obviously I have not read the book).
1. If Sauron made the one ring, who made all the others? Why did Gandalf have one of the elven rings when he is not an elf?
Was Gollum ever good during the Two Towers or was he always scheming.
2. When Frodo returns to the shire, he is obviously ill because of the ring, but is he dying?
Bilbo had the ring for a long time, Frodo had it for a year and it made him so ill. Why didn't bilbo get sick?
3. The gray havens, what exactly happens to them i.e. Frodo, Bilbo and Gandalf?
4. Does Legolas go the gray havens?
5. What happens to Gimli?
Thats it for now, I know I will think of some more.
Thanks everybody.
