The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It works out though... the Company arrives at Caras Galadhon January 17, nearly a month after leaving Rivendell. In "The Ring Goes South", it's mentioned that Elladan and Elrohir were the last scouts to return; "they had made a great journey, passing down the Silverlode in a strange country". Presumably they had travelled to Lorien and back, in just under two months.

By the way, according to the Tale of Years, Gandalf fought the Balrog for 10 days.

I'm thinkin' something like this might just do the trick...

Paintable caulk

If the crack is just a small one, that should work. DO buy the caulk gun (you can get 'em pretty cheap).

And you can smooth out the caulk with your finger.

Yeah, it's a small crack. I think it could work! I would get the gun, for sure.

we need a chart to track who is coming to ShootMoot

Dates: Friday June 3 through Sunday June 6

I can do that....
How about everyone tell me:

Who's comin':
How many in party (and relation, i.e. spouse, kids, hangers-on):
Accommodations (camping on site, hotel nearby, or needing room or couch space in g'nads house):
Firearm types:
Other things we should know about you:

If I bring two or three invisible friends and an alter-ego, does that get me a group discount?

I'm thinking "other things" in our case means "We'll need a power outlet to charge up the laptop during the day to accomodate outdoor tent-based animoot". That's assuming Clare or some other anime freaks show up, since by then I'm expecting you to be my roommate and through my anime stack already.

That's kind of what I had in mind... Wasn't really wanting the kind of information Corin confessed ;~D
