The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Sounds like it could be strep. Bless his little heart, I hope he feels better soon! Lots of fluids, lots of rest.

I just read your post to me! I'm sorry I didn't get back with you...Steve and the boys came and I had to log off.

I see you decided against the ER...I think you made the right decision but also taking him in right away this morning is the to do too. If your ER is anything like ours you might not have gotten home till midnight or later...not good for a little one.

Keep me posted!

You're in my prayers today. I know it's gonna be tough. If the folks decide to take them, have a good cry, then a cup of tea, and realize that you've taken a HUGH step forward!

We're here, when you're all done.

>>But does it have the luggage area between the back seat and rear window?

It does! (Although I doubt I'll let anyone ride back there...much.)

It's gonna be really cute when we get it all fixed up. The upper part of the car has some surface rust, but none of that bubbly stuff. The underneath...the pans and such...have got to be rusty, but we haven't seen it. I did look under the rubber mats right down to the pan in the back floorboard and didn't see any earth through the floor, you know? LOL

Thank you! I will!

I'm very excited...it's going to be a long slow process, done a little at a time, but just getting started is something!

Coffee - the exiler of the gods. What would we do with out it?

Heading out shortly. Should be a roller coaster on weather this week highs in 50's and single digits in four days.

I didn't think it was that strange a word! Sorry, folkses...

I strive never to use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice... ;-)

I remember when I decided to move to Austin (where I ultimately met Steve, btw)...

I had finished nursing school and had a good job. Was living with my folks. I was 23. I wrote to the Austin Chamber of Commerce and they sent me copies of the Yellow Pages with all the hospitals. I contacted all the hospitals in the area and asked for applications.

When the applications came in, I sat at the kitchen table filling them out on the typewriter, the whole time my mom was wringing her hands saying "You can't move! You can't live out there all alone in that big city!"

I just kept type-type-typing...

My trouble is that I don't need someone ELSE to tell me that. I've got an internal pessimist doin' just that.

Well, as the captain in 3-2-1 Penguins says...

"I am, and will continue to be, somewhat adventurous!"

I love Tulsa but would leave in a heartbeat if it weren't for the kids. We'd probably still leave if we had to (job situation may require it.) The kids have friends here, but then again...they'll make friends in other places.

Thanks.

I just don't see 'em anymore. But then I never go into the chat forum, just directly here.
