Evening Hair - I plan to have a couple extra available at our next gathering.
That will be a treat :~D
Um, they think that memory erasing is artistic and it'll screw up his record if she remembers?
I guess these are just pop hits. Mostly power ballads, but a few rappy-things. It's rather hilarious.
Hi there... I saw your earlier discussion of this, and I *think* you may be thinking of a publication put out annually by the magazine Writer's Digest, called Writer's Market. We used to subscribe to the magazine, and they had a lot of interesting articles about writing in it. Their website looks interesting too!
Evening Gents - There has been some foot bows from that era reproduced. Archer lays on his back, feet on the bow and pulls the string back with both hands. Can heave a big arrow quite a way. The ones I heard about were fairly long 7-8 foot or so. Wood design mechanics gets a bit different when dealing in those dimensions and weights, or so I'm told. Would be interesting to say the least in any event.
I'm thinking more along the lines of he takes it as a personal insult if she turns her back on his work.
But...yeah, artistic. I think they do think of it that way.
Some of my personal philosophy has crept in in a few places. Not sure if that's good or bad....
Hey Bear... good evening everyone... been busy posting on other threads... Anything happening here?
btw, LSA related to me that one of the 'weatherweenies' mentioned the "I" word for next week. I hope the 'ww' was barking up the wrong tree. We've been there and done that, didn't get the t-shirt though.
Hi, Bear! Always good to see you!
What I'm thinking of is a big book that's issued annually. I've seen one before, but it was years ago. Has lists of publishers, the genres they usually publish, and rules for submission. Also tells about what they typically pay, I think.
I KNOW Amazon sells 'em. Once I'm not so broke I'll pick one up.
But I'll also check out the link you mentioned!
Something happened to me today that hasn't happened since the Hobbit Hole began! I went to check out the lastest posts here in the Hole, and it was pushed completely off the screen on my My Comments page!
Frightening! Like being out in the ocean, out of sight of land!
Really... Where have you been posting so much? I'll have to go check up. ;~D
Same places you've been, I think! And another literary thread. Nothing too exciting.
My personal philosophy creeps into my stories all the time, but it sort of comes across as fatalism.
Hmm, in the 200 words I've written tonight I've used two mild swear words and three insults.
LOL! You aren't in a bad mood, are you?
See, that's part of my trouble with writing. I have a hard time writing anything realistic because I'm really nervous about anything like that. Silly, I suppose.
On the other hand, Tolkien seemed to do OK with very little humor for long stretches and no cursing at all...
So maybe I'm OK.
But I feel like I'm still writing at the maturity level of a twelve year old sometimes.
No, it's a prison scene and I'm trying to give it a harder edge. The speaker is majorly bummed because he's in prison for life for finding out something he shouldn't have.
I'm in a pretty good mood, actually, even if I had an argument with my friend over whether the Phantom was an ewwy creepy stalker guy. She likes him better than the somewhat-hero. I agreed that the hero is a wimp, but at least he's not eeeevil.
'Course we had that "icy fog" yesterday morning. I didn't even notice it until I got to the sidewalk at work.
I still want to see it.
I think tomorrow I'll just take my notebook somewhere away from disctractions and start writing. Sometimes seems like the only way to get through a block is to write as if it doesn't exist!
And maybe I'll get to more of yours. I've read another chapter, but that's it so far. But I'm starting to gather what Destiny is, kinda sorta.
Oh, good, then I think you're ahead of me. I think I know what it's supposed to be, but not what it is...
Sounds like a great plan! When you get a good way, send me some.
Will do. I'm at about 12000 words now...not progressing fast, but then, I have the luxury of taking my time now. Plus I can even write stuff and discard it if it does fit in the end - I can approach this however I want since I don't have a strict deadline this time.
It's amazingly freeing.
Can I have this?
