NEW YORK, Dec 16, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The age-old debate of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln's sexuality is due to be stirred up with the release of an author's determination Lincoln was gay.
In "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln," to be published next month by Free Press, the late author C.A. Tripp claims Lincoln had a homosexual relationship with the captain of his bodyguards, David Derickson, who shared his bed whenever Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd, was away.
Tripp died last year, two weeks after completing 10 years of research on the book, the New York Times said.
Tripp charts Lincoln's relationships with other men, including Joshua Speed, with whom he shared a bed for four years, and Billy Greene, with whom Lincoln also shared a bed in New Salem, Ill. Greene reportedly said Lincoln's thighs "were as perfect as a human being could be."
In researching the 16th president and founder of the Republican party, Tripp created a large database of cross-indexed material, which is now available at the Lincoln Library in Springfield, Ill.
Noticed you haven't been on the ACW threads lately after having been handed your ass for a hat!
All that said, I don't know/care if Lincoln was gay -- but I damn sure know a gay troll trying to sign up another historical figure for the Everyone You Ever Admired Was Gay propaganda campaign.
Dragging yet another American patriot through the mud!
It makes sense to me, the invasion of the South was clearly a queenie-fit. John Wilkes Booth was probably a jilted ex.
LMAO!
-first deists -now, homosexual deists -what's next -homosexual pro-choice deists?
The author C. A. Tripp, who is said to have just completed co-authorship of a book speculating that Abraham Lincoln had gay encounters, has died of cancer. He was 83.
Tripp is best known for his 1975 book The Homosexual Matrix (McGraw-Hill), in which he attempted to dispel popular misconceptions about homosexuality. It sold nearly half a million copies.
Dr Clarence Arthur Tripp, psychologist, therapist and sex researcher, studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology and served in the US Navy. He immersed himself in the work of Freud during the 1940s and also worked in photography, while becoming increasingly interested in psychology. It was towards the end of the decade that he worked with Alfred Kinsey at the Institute for Sex Research in Indiana, until Kinsey died in 1956.
His book speculating on the sexuality of Lincoln was co-written with the author Lewis Gannett. It was finished about two weeks before Tripp's death, and he had been working with Gannett on its preparation for several years. Reports have hinted that the book will reveal that Lincoln had a series of homosexual encounters.
According to Newsweek, Tripp had a straightforward message that "homosexuality is best viewed as an alternative lifestyle and society benefits from tolerating it".
The New York Times quotes Larry Kramer, author and AIDS activist, who had said in an interview that Tripp's book was the first to emerge from a "reputable source", and that it "dared to openly speak of homosexuality as a healthy occurrence".
Tripp is survived by his companion, Vacharin Prasertthai.
Years ago, I read Gore Vidal's Lincoln bio. I don't remember Vidal dropping hints Lincoln was gay. And you'd think Gore would catch that stuff . . . |
According to homosexuals all great men are gay! Oh how they deceive themselves about their lifestyle CHOICE and now creating heroes that are gay. LOL!
Hey nmh, we actually agree on something.
4 score and 7 queers ago....
Correction, 4 "scored" and seven queers ago...
First....I'd like to know what "a beard" is? I'm not usually too naive, but can't quite figure out the symbolism here.
Michael Medved had an interesting guest on his radio show yesterday. A Dr. Jeffrey Sandinover who discussed his book "Homosexuality and the politics of truth." I found his input very enlightening about how much information they have AGAINST genetic homosexuality. You can also find a lot of interesting information by Susan Cochran by doing a search for her name.
My question is this: Why DO the homosexual men talk like that? Women don't talk like that or make so-called "effeminate" gestures like them even under the silliest circumstances. So I can't appreciate the common comparison. But, again, where does the more aptly named "homosexual" lisping come from? Anybody know?
I highly recommend Regeneration Books as a source for more information.
They're trying to convey a message that being a sexual deviant is something that "just happens" to people naturally and unexpectedly, and that it can happen to anybody including the high school prom queen.
Nothing could be further from reality though as the high schoolers who turn homosexual almost always have other serious mental problems. There were maybe 5 or 6 students in my senior class of 700 who are homosexuals. The lesbians were all without exception fat short haired abortion activist who drove volvo diversity wagons and had all the piercings and tattooes - never the hot chick like this show would have you believe. There was only one gay guy in our class and he was also a suicidal crackhead who was (and still is, last I heard) messed up on every type of drug imaginable, only now he's also a walking venereal disease factory. Yet Hollywood and the leftists who drive its agenda would have you believe that these types are all normal, everyday people living a normal, everyday lifestyle. Sickening...

Back in 1999, he attracted considerable media attention when he claimed he'd uncovered a previously unknown Joshua Speed diary that explicitly confirmed the "love affair." Kramer even gave a public reading of some lurid quotes from the diary that sounded like they could have been written by Danielle Steele.
Since then, the diary has never surfaced. Says Holzer, Kramer "said he invented the story as a means of reminding Americans that gays can become great." Indeed, Kramer has been quoted as saying that he was trying to provide "the first gay president" even if that means having "to invent our own" history.
