Salty's not entirely welcome at the parents' place . . . Mom objects to hyperactivity in canines. She thinks it's a sign of bad character. I tell her it's a sign of bad parenting, just like my chronic misbehavior. (And then I pick myself up, dust myself off, and wonder what she lobbed at me.)
Awww! Gracie sounds just beautiful.
Our little JRT, Sparky, has a black and brindle 'bandit' mask and ears. He's a smooth coat and I'm amazed at how little upkeep he needs. He's kind of a self-cleaning dog. LOL
On the other hand, I'm going to be fifty dollars lighter tomorrow after I get our long-haired Lab, Sturgis, groomed. I brush her almost daily but she still tends to acquire a Rastafarian look if I don't have her bathed, combed out and clipped every month.
My husband actually prefers our little dog too. It's surprising because our last couple of dogs were a Newfie and a Belgian Sheepdog.

We also have a Husky/Golden mix that is a great dog too, as well as a dachsund/something mix that I found on the side of the dirt road that wants to be Gracie. We also have a 20 lb cat that is the coolest cat in the world.
If anyone or anything ever hurt one of them, it would not be a good day for them. I really don't think anyone would want to take them though and since we do all the grooming, we don't have to worry about them being given to the wrong person.
How do you go about bathing your Husky/Golden?
I ask because years ago I used to bathe our Newfie in the tub until he got too big. That and the pipes clogged up with hair. My husband was none too happy and dogs were banned from the tub.
We used to do the PetCo thing but we moved from Minneapolis last summer to a very small town. The groomer here knows all the dogs in town and their owners by name. No more worrying about a mix-up!
We live in coastal South Carolina and Goldie gets her baths outside with the water hose.
She doesn't get too many baths in the winter-time. Winter time to us being any time it gets below 50.
Gracie the Jack Russell and Daisy the Dachsund thing get their baths inside as they are definately warm weather dogs. Gracie lives by the fireplace this time of year.
A true Redneck would have an old bath tub in the backyard. Some old tubs are used as a horse watering trough though I saw quiet a few in front yards of houses in Massachusetts, set up as shrines.
Can't be that small of a town if you have a dog groomer.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me that you live in a warm climate.
It was 6 degrees here the other night so my brain must've froze. I assume everyone else must be suffering right along with me. LOL
BTW, Sparky's warming up in front of the fireplace at this moment. He's a lot less active when it's going. I enjoy the break from playing tug-of-war.
We actually had the old bath tub for the pony's water.
One day we are going to get it refinished and actually use it for people.
It is supposed to get all the way down to 28 tonight and I as well as the small dogs can not tolerate it.

If I did have a bathtub full of water in the backyard right now, it would be frozen solid. Good for ice skating maybe.
My town has about 3,000 people. It's very small in comparison to Minneapolis. I did see a toilet set up as a shrine in someone's front yard there though.
They changed the artificial flowers in it according to the season. It's not a look I aspire to achieve. LOL
If you hear tiny violins playing, that's me. heheh
That was the predicted high here today and is actually pretty warm for this time of year.

Ah, gotcha! My vet told me that the flea population has been going crazy and that it's *almost* impossible to be flea free. Since it's not going to freeze, it's going to be worse in the summer.
I am lucky as far as dogs go. They are pretty cooperative... at least while I was there... she told me they were good dogs the whole time, but now I wonder...
Black lab. I don't have papers but she has webbed paws so I figure she's purebred. She weighs around 70lbs (small lab; they actually do come in adult sizes) but she'd about 5 lbs over weight (like me!)
She's REALLY talented! :)
I am embarassed by how long her claws are; I was supposed to get them last weekend and didnt.
A true Redneck would figure out that if it could be put out in the yard, then there would be no reason it couldn't also have wheels. Use the correct sized wheels for the surface to be rolled upon.
Roll it into your back kitchen/garage or formal room and fill it with warm water. When done, roll it back out and pull out the stopper.
