Why are coffeehouses over-run with DemocRATS?!?!? (Mod sets bongo aside, zots troll)
Posted on 12/14/2004 11:14:29 AM PST by CarolinaGOPer
I live in a college town in North Carolina, and recently I went into a coffee shop to innocently purchase a cup of coffee. What I instead found was a veritable den of sin, filled with Marxists and DemocRATS. To wit:
-The entire place stunk of patchoulli -Patrons were reading 'Tropic of Cancer', 'The Communist Manifesto', and 'Stupid White Men' -- titles that I would never want my good G*d-fearing children getting a hippie's length away from (of course, not a Bible to be found) -Two women were kissing (of course, I could only tell they were women upon further inspection, if you catch my drift; they seemed to be wearing very comfortable shoes) -Someone was actually playing *bongos* in the corner -The combined annual income of the patrons was less than what I paid for my car
Why is it, dear Freepers, that coffeehouses are controlled by these liberals? Why can't family-loving, G*d-fearing, red-blooded Americans simply get a cup of coffee without having our values completely desecrated?!? Are there any conservative coffeehouses, where this ridicuolousness is not tolerated?

Albuquerque is south of Mason's and Dixon's line, which cannot be said of Ohio.

The town is indeed Chapel Hill, and it was Caribou Coffee on Franklin Street. There's part of your mistake -- Caribou is owned by First Islamic Investment Bank of Bahrain...

Quiznos' subs! Krispy Kreme makes pretty good brew as well.
____________
Quizno's uses better quality meats. Freepers have to stay out of those overpriced yuppie coffee shops and go to real places for their java fix.

Coffee addict?
I bought a home coffee roaster last year and am absolutely spoiled. Even the "fresh roast" at the local coffee house tastes burnt and oxidized now.
These folks get my highest recommendation!

There is a grocery store run by hippyprenuer's which I personally ran the data lines for seven databased scale systems and programmed the plu barcode formats and label contents. When I was given the list of items to format, I knew exactly what I was going to encounter during installation. I had to do labels for stuff like organic ostrich meat, free range organic chicken, sixty varieties of tofu, and the most nutty list of produce imaginable. Crazy hippie liberals may eat strange, but those hippypreneur's who cater to them run a fine business plan. The prices per pound for produce and organic meats ran at least five times per pound as regular stores.
Some hippies do become capitalist pigs. They go to extraordinary lengths to still project otherwise however. The guy who owned the store rode his bike to work each day.......Only after unloading it from the back of his Chevy Suburban about five miles away at a park&ride.
