From the South Park threads to Desperate Housewives, the Holier-than-thou (cause sex is evil, dontchaknow) brigade on FR is always on the move. After all, where would you find meaning and purpose in your lives if you weren't campaigning against "dirty" movies (even mainstream Julia Roberts movies for God's sake), TV Shows, and music videos?
Your motto: Never surrender!... Never give up!... Never say die!... What's a "free market"?... Whadda mean "personal choice"?...R-rated? Never heard of that before...Tinky Winky is a homo...the Smurfs are satanic...etc.
You know, until I read this post I wasn't sure I'd actually pay good money to go see Closer, even though I was leaning towards it (if only for the amazing Natalie Portman).
Now I know I will. On the first day.
AND I'm going to write your name on the 10$ bill before I hand it over.
AND that ticket-taker will look at my face and see the biggest, most maniacal grin he's ever seen in his life.
Have a good night. MOO-HOO-HA-HA-Haaaa!
Spite isn't a good enough reason to go see a Julia Roberts movie, although I sympathize with you.
Away foul troll...zot!
You're going to write "AmericanMade" on the bill?

I think you are mistaking my meaning in life for yours.
True entertainment arrives from true talent that is enriched with disciplined practice of that divinely given talent. You may refer to the dictionary for the definition of talent if you must.
This movie has nothing to do with quality or talent. It also contains a distasteful view for youth who may mistake a Julia Roberts movie as the way to live. It is a cultural embarrassment. I felt inclined to share so that others who might not enjoy shock theater might spend their time elsewhere.
Sometimes I think they are paid by the movie industry to promote these films. I had absolutely zero interest in seeing this film, now I might give a shot.
And your point is.......?
Going to see a stupid (unnngh, Julia Roberts?) movie just so you can say 'Oooh, I got you good, I showed you, neener neener neener' is a juvenile waste of money. You should feel as silly doing that as the Church Ladies should feel raising a fuss in the first place.
Julia? Is that you?

Dude, Tinky Winky was gay. I was living in Boston when the whole Falwell thing came up. I was bored waiting in South Station for an Amtrak, and I saw a book. Having heard the uproar, being quite unfamiliar with the show, and seeing Tinky Winky with a handbag on the cover of the book, I peeked to see whether the book would tip off if Tinky-winky was gay. (I had seen just enough of the show to know TW had a guy's voice.)
The book turned out to be about how TW was forcing the other, smaller, younger male teletubby (forgot his name) to wear a tutu. The little guy protested, but TW pressured him and even bullied him, until he wore the tutu. TW was "delighted," and the illustration showed TW leering at the smaller one, who was plainly very upset.
I later read where the actor who played TW was fired for romping around the studio naked, as was his habit, but also drunk, insisting crewmembers salute his Winky. He's now a gay-bar stripper.
