The first one I ever saw was the one where the four main characters all got on different subways and had different adventures. Wow, that's the first one I ever saw, too! Some family member taped it and sent the tape to me in Europe where I lived at the time. Elaine's "thinking" in that subway was absolutely priceless!

Seinfeld sucked. It was essentially liberal condescending Mahnattanites making fun of the "dumb goyim" while dealing with their neurotic behavior.

I liked Frasier much better. They are not mutually exclusive. Both good shows and great writing.

Alas our humor, like our manners our music and our morals, have become a repository of all that is crude, rude and vulgar. Yes I will not argue with that. But beyond the vulgar part, Seinfeld has a way of zoning in on the selfishness in human nature and shining a bright light on just how ridiculous we humans are much of the time. That's why it's funny. It's not the subject matter really. But good for you for being picky and having high standards. We've got so little to pick from these days.

Oh come on. You have a favorite show too, most likely, and chances are some people here hate it, but if you started a thread discussing it, I wouldn't pop in and tell you it sucked.

P.S. I don't get why there are so many people in a Seinfeld thread who don't like the show and feel compelled to tell us that.
Theres a whole weird group of people who do that all the time.
They pop in, note that they are intellectually superior to people on the current pop-culture thread, then go wander off to discuss their favorite NASCAR driver or pro-wrestler.

P.S. I don't get why there are so many people in a Seinfeld thread who don't like the show and feel compelled to tell us that. It's been happening a lot on FR the past year. Just try to ignore them. They're just grumpy and feel the need to post their worthless two cents in on threads they think "suck" in the first place.

I could never sit through a single episode. Tried a couple of times, but clicked off quickly.

I don't get why there are so many people in a Seinfeld thread who don't like the show and feel compelled to tell us that.Same thing happens on South Park threads, and almost any thread about any movie.

How about the one where George and Jerry are eating dinner with the lip reader. Then they try to talk to eachother without her reading their lips. It's priceless. I can't wait to get all the episodes on DVD.

My favorite is the backwards episode, but I am also partial to any episode with Peterman.
