I believe that must be the starry cloak mentioned in the story! Thanks for the link. I can't get the trailer.
thanks for ping.. any idea how much the set will be? Just changed my aol/aim wallpaper & icon about half hour ago to LOTR.. been patriotic/Bush related for 2 years!
Maybe a break in price at Sam's club or BJs???
Why can't you get the trailer?
Too slow, too techno-challenged.
The list price is $40 ($80 for the gift set).
Amazon currently has it for $24 ($56 for the gift set).
I have bought my EEs at WalMart--in my area, they're the only ones to have them dependably and at a good price.
Morning Hair, what is the "Blue Mantle"?
For you fantasy fiends, there's a couple of good fantasy epics out there in print that might make good films. Terry Goodkind's stuff? Or maybe Robert Jordan? Would love to see Sword of Truth or Wheel of Time on film.
The robe Eowyn is wearing.... it's a scene that we really hoped for from the books! And it looks like PJ did his reading. :~D
And so the fifth day came since the Lady Éowyn went first to Faramir; and they stood now together once more upon the walls of the City and looked out. No tidings had yet come, and all hearts were darkened. The weather, too, was bright no longer. It was cold. A wind that had sprung up in the night was blowing now keenly from the North, and it was rising; but the lands about looked grey and drear. They were clad in warm raiment and heavy cloaks, and over all the Lady Éowyn wore a great blue mantle of the colour of deep summer-night, and it was set with silver stars about hem and throat. Faramir had sent for this robe and had wrapped it about her; and he thought that she looked fair and queenly indeed as she stood there at his side. The mantle was wrought for his mother, Finduilas of Amroth, who died untimely, and was to him but a memory of loveliness in far days and of his first grief; and her robe seemed to him raiment fitting for the beauty and sadness of Éowyn.
But she now shivered beneath the starry mantle, and she looked northward, above the grey hither lands, into the eye of the cold wind where far away the sky was hard and clear.
Woot! Thanks for the PING...great trailer!
*sigh*
Faramir is soooo romantic! I mean, really! What a guy...
Digging his mom's old bathrobe out of the closet does it for ya huh? ;~D
I guess it was a nice gesture :~D
Where's everybody buying theirs?
We'll be buying ours locally so we can go get it in the morning when they open. I could care less about the best price on such things!
Each set of three clips on this page are unique. Some are similar, but some go farther than others.
The scene with the Mouth of Sauron is MUCH more heartbreaking than even the snippet in the Official Preview.
And the final end to Saruman revealed. Could it be that the long ago dismissed rumor of the spikey wheel was actually true? Click and you shall see!
WOW!!!! Thank you!
Pretty cool huh! This is going to be good...
Im on so many ping lists that post voluminously each day that my Hobbit Hole pings kinda get lost in the shuffle...and I am still (after 6 years STILL troubled by JimRob's method of keeping up with it all. I bookmark like crazy, but I can only ever find my OLD bookmarks...not my latest ones.)
Thanks for the ping again!
Next monday the SciFi channel is airing its production of Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea books. After their version of Dune, I am quite eager to see it. Dune was awesome (as opposed to the awful 80s version).
Aragorn's reaction to the Mouth of Sauron is, hands down, the coolest thing I ever saw him do in any of the movies! Perfect saunter and backhand action!
