Welcome to Canada, President Bush.

This was originally written by a Canadian, and has now been upgraded by another Canadian. (Audio begins after text messages.)
May God bless you!
Thanks for your Thanksgiving wishes too. We had a wonderful dinner and I was lucky enough to find two Marines that would have been alone at the base today/tonight to share our meal with us. It made it so much more special to have them here. I met their Sgt's wife at a function my Republican women's group sponsored...so the wives could have an evening out. We've been writing to another group of guys--they just got home, and now we've got another group to write to. These guys are so special...they're liberators--givers of freedom and liberty. We're so blessed they choose to sign up. We're so blessed that nothing happened at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I think it's because we're doing good, for good's sake.
Thank you for your kindness toward our President. I know he would appreciate it. He is a good man...a REAL person that you can count on. How many other leaders of the free world pick up Kings and Queens in his F250 extended cab truck? The rest all have "drivers" and have "people" to do these things for them.
Anyway, thanks again - you are a credit to Canada's good name!
Thank you.
I could never express the gratitude felt when someone issues a heartfelt defense of our country. It means more than any material offering. Sinclair's words brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing this and thanks to the others that put the presentation together and stand as our allies.
That was so uplifting. All we hear is how the Canadians hate us and hate President Bush. It was chilling to hear the broadcast from "73. There really is nothing new under the sun.
Thank you Canada!!!
pidd, thank you for this beautiful Salute. I had never heard (or read) Mr. Sinclair's words, they are so right on. He speaks of things I had thought about for years~~America, always going it alone!
The animation is stunning - and you included my favorite picture - Cigarette Marine!
Kay, thanks for the ping and Entropy Squared, thanks for posting this inspirational piece.

Pinging your lists for "A Salute to the Americans" by poster pidd, from Free Dominion in Canada.
A lovely tribute, pidd. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the ping, Texasflower.
I initially scanned this sentence,
"This was originally written by a Canadian,"
to read,
"This was originally written IN Canadian."
Now off to check out the tribute.
Well, that choked me up.
Kudos to the memory of Gordon Sinclair and thanks to all Canadians who share his view.
Thank you for the ping, baseballmom
Well done, Pidd!
I've always liked that clip, and there's never been a better time to dig it up and play it then now.
Don't worry folks, the Conservative vote in Canada was split for a long time by our own Reform Party -- as I recall, that's how Slick Willie got in. To make matters worse the conservative vote was split further by the nationalist Bloc Quebecois. Imagine four straight terms of Democrats, eh? Come visit Toronto and you won't have to imagine. It's horrible, but it'll be over soon.
And yes.... what Sinclair said.... DITTO!

Many countries and people in those countries are happy to take American largess, but are not very grateful in return. Perhaps they should learn the true meaning of the word "independent".
