Ironically.. I'm scared of crowds too.. You were a fun child too huh?? *L*
There are times I just don't know what to do with her and this fear she has.

I'm still leery around crowds.
I don't like crowds.
I get squirrely.
Does she like playing hide and seek?
I will use the crowds at times to 'hide' in.
That's how I can deal with crowds.
*snort*
Weird, I know.

Seriously though, some kids get overstimulated in groups of people because they have a sensual hypersensitivity that is almost palpable I don't know what her problem is .. some crowds are ok .. like the mall where there are toys
Other crowds are bad because of the loud noise
Some people are ok .. where others just scare the hell out of her
She HATES going to my one sister's house because she is scared of my one niece. I'm not sure why, because she never did anything to Carly but look at her. She not scary looking .. she is a beautiful girl .. but she is the only one in my family that wears braces, so I'm thinking it might be that
Bottom line .. you never know what is going to freak Carly out
Oh the fun

"I've always found southerns to be such friendly folks" That's because we don't generally dwell where there are heavy concentrations of people, so we're in a more hospitable mood when we ARE around more people. We like our space and we try and stay in it, and respect the space of others. When you get in the big cities in the south, you find the same kinds of problems that exist in big cities anywhere else.

"she is the only one in my family that wears braces, so I'm thinking it might be that" Uh oh. I think I have figured out her problem. She is receiving the radio signals that are being transmitted through the braces. Get her a tinfoil hat. She'll be fine.

"We like our space and we try and stay in it, and respect the space of others." Perhaps that should have read "we like our space and we try and stay in it and we expect others to do the same."

I deny using such tactics to embarrass my enemies and interrogate them.

Does she like playing hide and seek? At home .. but not at malls or in the stores
When we go to stores she likes to sit in the cart .. one because she's lazy and hates to walk and also because it a safe zone
And she ALWAYS has to wear the safety belts when in the carts ..

Okers.
I tend to slink about, slipping through the crowd quietly.
I've startled people because they didn't hear me walking along.
And I've had peopel looking right at me and not see me.
(Crowds are good for this.)
I turned it into a bit of a game so that I could 'get over' my phobia of crowds.
So while I'm not really 'over' my fear of crowds, I can deal with it because I try to think of it as a big game.
