I'll let your nick speak for you.
fo0hzy,
a "sniff test" is a pre-zot protocol.
certain folks have demonstrated significant talent at differentiating the whiff of fresh-from-the-factory noobie from the malodorous effluvium of the disrupting troll.
I seem to be one thereof.
Other FReepers ask Those Who Nose to scent you bogies out and make a preliminary determination as to your nature and, if need be, issue a prefatory FRAG-O for your demise.
*snfff!*
I don't think you are an errant DUmmy.
However, I do believe you will find your sojourn here on FR brief if you persist in replying to established FReepers with such pithy remarks as "bite me".
RKBA Democrat,
Thank you for the alert. I do not believe it is time to summon lightning, but advise monitoring for future developments.
We've got the guns and grow all the food and produce most of the fuel. We also have all the patriots that will fight for a cause bigger than themselves. No contest.
fo0hzy,
tsk!
careful, now.
there is a difference between a playful jape and an attack.
It's called "Darwinism in action".
I defer to your wisdom my liege. I didn't catch the whiff of the common troll, but of the agent provocateur.
Look newbie,
You need to learn to take a joke. Particularly one in good fun.
We'll be watching. I suggest you watch your step for a while if you want to stay.
(those in the know see this as an apologizing situation)
Well done.
lol... I'm going to sink back into lurk mode for a few weeks. But only because I respect you all ;)
repentance gladly accepted.
Our provisional welcome is yours.
udders will give wit' da ewe-zuwal... the provisos, the addenda, the odd quid-pro-quo here and there.
my parting words:
assume good intentions, but verify
if puzzled, ask before going postal
cultivate a hefty epidermis
Our duty and pleasure
a good catch, and a good call in pinging Us.
We thank thee.
now: think up a court title! We cannot long persist in calling thee "that bloody peasant"
;)
My pleasure. I will think up a court title.
I don't much enjoy tasting the backlash that trolls leave in their wake. As one of the few friendly neighborhood Democrats on FR, I get the jaundiced eye for the behavior of others that I personally abhor.
My pleasure to be of service.
That's right: no social problem facing the US can't be solved by the judicious use of tactical air strikes. ^_^
I know I've told this story before, but when I was a grad student at Penn, I was plainly was to the right of all other students and faculty in the math dept. I used to say that as a joke.
Years later, my advisor's favorite, Wilson Goode was mayor of Philadelphia. (My advisor had some influence in the anti-Rizzo wing of the demonRAT party there, and had something to do with his being nominated.) Goode's administration was of course the one that authorized the Philly police to aerially bombard a house held by the bizarre black-separatist group MOVE, resulting in the destruction of an entire neighborhood by the ensuing fire.
I called my advisor up, and said, "I see your man took my advice."
"What?"
"You know I always used to say there was no social problem that couldn't be solved by the use of tactical air power."
"Don't even talk about it!!!"
as a longtime invader of a left-of-center cg graphics web community, I totally understand what you mean.
