I just took one of my daughters to see The Incredibles, and I cannot say enough good things about it. This is a conservative movie in so many ways, I can't begin to catalogue them. It is very entertaining, very well written, visually engaging. It is (1) pro-family, (2) pro-exceptionalism, (3) pro-tort reform, (4) pro-masculinity, (5) pro-use of force against criminals, and almost completely devoid of p.c. bromides. The bad guys are bad guys, the good guys are good guys, and to be able to take your kids to something so sane is like a breath of fresh air. My daughter loved, and so did I.
Just thought you'd like to know.
I've been looking forward to seeing it myself.
I agree. This was a great movie on many levels. If you haven't taken the kids to go see it yet, do it soon. (If you don't have any, go anyway). It's that good.
AMEN!
It's awsome.
No.
For those who don't know, Steve Jobs is a liberal and actually was an unofficial advisor on something or other to Kerry's campaign.
I have plans to see it Saturday.
My hubby and our 6 year old son were positively giddy after having seen it.
A.must.see!
It's animated, for crying out loud. There were two-year olds in the audience. If your child is overly sensitive, that's one thing, but I can't see how superheroes fighting giant robots is any big deal.
Yes, this movie is terrific. I really liked the early 1960s look.
It was also anti terrorist, anti pc and pro meritocracy.
Our 4 kids 7-16 loved it.
I particularly liked the scene where Mom explains to teen age daughter that "We don't have the luxury of doubt" that the bad guys wouldn't hold back because she was a child but would kill her if they got the chance.
They managed to pack a lot of conservative rationality into a fast paced and funny feature length cartoon.
I completely disagree. I took my 3 and 4 year olds to see it and they loved it. In spite of the fact that, I'll admit, I have some pretty sensitive kids. I'll be buying the DVD the day it comes out (just like Finding Nemo). I loved the Pixar short at the beginning of this one, too!
Heck, I buy the Pixar DVD's just so I can see previews of the next Pixar movie (Finding Nemo was on Monsters,Inc.; The Incredibles was on Finding Nemo, etc.).

Damn, over 700 posts and this is my first double post!
It's as much for adults as for kids. Lots of visual/musical references to early James Bond movies, especially the end credits.
Mr. Incredible had some great lines: "No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again! I feel like the maid; "I just cleaned up this place! Can't you keep it clean for ten minutes!" "
And his little rant against his son's "graduation ceremony" and for meritocracy - "He's just moving from 3rd grade to 4th grade!..." Even his (very competitive) little boy getting disgusted about (paraphrasing) "...everybody getting a trophy.."
Not sure if younger kids will like it - it's more of a drama/action flick than a laugh-out-loud comedy, or typical Disney fare.
What you are describing is what used to be called a "wholesome or "family" movie. Liberals have become so decadent that these movies now are labelled "conservative".
Absolutely right. Took my boys (ages 5, 9, 18) again last night loved it the first time, liked it even better the second time.
A group of about six adults sat in the row in front of us. No kids. They were loving it. Eloquent testimony to the film.
