The economy is one of the fundamental criteria by which the government's effectiveness is judged. Its effects are universal, yet they are determined and measured by percentages small enough to be influenced if enough people reduce their participation in it. Accompanied by an increase in activities that strengthen our families and communities, this is a powerful way to shape our society, and it will be noticed.
What is bad for business is bad for the president.
There are many ways to send this economic message. By opening this action with strong participation, we can send a very clear message even before the president's new term begins. On Thanksgiving, fast or eat a modest meal with family and friends, reflecting on the role of non-violent movements in our history. On November 26th, "The biggest shopping day of the year", Buy Nothing. It will be noticed.
Good luck with that.
And of course, all those working people who get laid off when the economy tanks...well, we won't think about them. Can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, you know.
I'm not advocating, just reporting. :)
10-4.
