Clearly, those of us in the thinking part of the country are at odds with the red(neck) states. Why not formalise the irreconcilable differences between us by having a go at sovereignty? That way, we can rejoin the civilised world, and you can create your Taliban-style theocracy that you so obviously desire.
When are you going to come to the realization that this is a conservative country now?? The era of the bleeding heart liberal has come to an end. Your either with us or your with the French.

This sort of nastiness probably helped Kerry lose. The stupid rhetoric, "Bush is Hitler", "Bush is worse than Saddam"...Come on! The majority of Americans don't like to hear that kind of crap thrown around! You want gay marriage or socialized medicine? Fine...Take it through the legislative process. Quit using the courts to do it - that ticks people off.

I can't help being pissed by this. I am sick of some of the people in this state. But we are going to change it. And maybe, just maybe, we will have a REAL presidential candidate from Massachusetts in 2008...RUN MITT RUN!!!!!
The guy is a true conservative. I have no idea how he gets elected here. Maybe Massachusetts residents ARE smart enough not to give the complete reigns of power to the liberals.
In the last campaign for governor, Mitt Romney's opponent (Shannon O'Brien) wanted to use the surplus in the jobless benefits fund to pay for childbirth family leave for 3 months, if my memory serves me correctly, for husband and wife. Mitt refused, sensibly saying things look great now, but they will not always be, and we need to be prepared.

I think some of them are finally getting that they were taken, sucked in by the likes of Fata$$ Moore and they can't stand themselves. Which is okay, I can't stand them either. They all need to get some real help.
And I'd give it seven years before we'd have to send in OUR military to quell the rioting in YOUR cities. After all, nobody but the criminals would have guns, right? Oh, and how would you feed yourselves? Last I checked, most large urban areas aren't exactly net producers of foodstuffs. You'd have to import it, from us. Keep pissing us off and we keep raising the tariffs.
Y'know, I'm all for federalism. There are a LOT of things that are currently done at the Federal level that should be done at the state level. But that's not what you want. You're just throwing a temper tantrum because the American people rejected your socialist, Godless, class-warfare rhetoric and instead chose a President who represents traditional values, morality, strength, and (at least partially) conservatism. If the tables were turned and Jean Francois Kerry had won the election, you'd be ramming that agenda down our throats and wouldn't dream of hearing any talk about Red America seceding. Admit it.

Indeed. I think all this talk about cessation is symptomatic of a larger, psychological meltdown, as they realize the pack of liars they've been listening to all this time really weren't listened by as many others as they thought.
