Gosh, you really found some beautiul paintings by Monet.
Hope you had a great weekend! I'm checking in, but soon must check out.
Of course, those are probably warships on the horizon. LOL!
They are indeed peaceful. Also, full of depth and color. If you noticed, the ocean is many colors blended into one.
I love these paintings by Monet.
I had never spent this much time looking at his paintings. I found several that I really like. After posting Poppies, I looked at some of the others. My gosh they are lovely.
I'm glad you called them to my attention.
Have a nice week.
Beautiful painting Amy.
Check out the other Monet paintings. They are beautiful.
Hope you had a great weekend, Spooky.
Do ya think it was like during the Civil War when civilians took a picnic lunch out to watch the battles? Kinda like a sporting match.
Yes, I noticed the different shades of blue and green used in the ocean. The cottage setting is so serene.
That's exactly what happened. I have a painting of ladies and young children having a picnic on a hill overlooking men bailing hay with a steam engine belching black smoke.
It was a sign of industrial might, in addition to the prestige value for the farmer, and carried none of the negative connotations we attach today.
Hi Tulip. I missed you again, lol.
LOL! I just got back again.
That's a pretty painting.
Hey! You're still awake! LOL
LOL! I slept in today, so I'll probably go to bed in a couple of hours.
I couldn't decide which Monet paintings to post so I posted several. :)
I'm just about to dry my clothes right now.
Ahhh. I'm visiting my parents next week for Thanksgiving, so I'll be doing laundry then. (I don't like sitting in laundromats. LOL!)
Oh right. Mine is in the basement - I live in a townhouse.
My apartment is too small to allow for a washer and dryer. Once I get a full-time job I'm going to move into a place that's big enough so I can have my own.
