In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

seriatim \sir-ee-AY-tim\, adverb, adjective:

1. In a series; one after another.

"Two days from the opening of the impeachment debate, gangs of television crews moved through mostly deserted corridors, doling out their 15 minutes of fame seriatim as individual lawmakers stepped up to batteries of microphones."
--The New York Times, December 16, 1998

Etymology: From Latin series, meaning "row, chain," and is formed on the same model as verbatim ("word for word"), literatim ("letter for letter") and gradatim ("step by step")..

Look! Here is yet another thread,
Gleefully proclaiming "Arafat's Dead."
I enjoy reading them, seriatim.
Alive or dead, I still just hate him.

who woulda thunk you would still have to think about this crap when it is mid November

Do you remember the "storm of the century" in the early 90's. It struck in February out of the Gulf of Mexico and dumped tons of snow in the Smokies...my Jax home was without power for a week. They didn't call it a hurricane because it was the wrong time of year...

Hi, Dutchgirl!

I'm afraid so. You can slap a wig and lipstick on a pig. Or Alfred E. Neumann.

But it's still a pig.
Or Alfred E. Neumann.

Jack.

My MIL and I have a seriatim every other Wednesday. We go to Harrah's. I'm way behind because I got up late again.

Hi, everyone!

I've saved the photos from Monday of the Irish Wolfhounds. We will be getting two of those doggies come the end of next summer. Wouldn't want to harm puppies in the danged heat. Also the one dog we have is not ready for puppies yet. But Cyber really liked the dogs, too.

Thank you so much!
