If you had already voted in that poll on the same computer, your husband's vote would not be counted because it came from the same IP address. I highly doubt it's a conspiracy on the part of CNN.

I vote for evolution. It's something the Democratic Party might want to consider doing soon, too.

That's disappointing. A full 1/3 of responders think creationism should be taught in school? Maybe we should add alchemy, astrology, augury to the curriculum as well. Supplement the 3 R's with the 3 A's.

Does anyone know where "The Reverend" (as Rush likes to say it) Jackson stands on Creationism?

If one wants their child to be taught creationism, then why don't they send their child to a religious school?

Creationism should not be taught in a science class period. Scientific theories must enable one to make predictions which can later be tested, they must possess the property of POTENTIAL FALSIFIABILITY. Creationism does not possess the property of potential falsifiability since no matter what the outcome of an experiment one could argue that Satan is manipulating measurements to mislead mankind. This doesn't mean that creationism is false or doesn't contain some truth, it just means that it is not a subject that falls under the scope of science and as such should not be part of science curriculum.

Beats me. I guess it isn't enough that they are allowed the freedom to stifle their own kids' educations. They want to foist that nonsense upon everyone else's kids too.

This is why we need to do away with public schools altogether. It creates too much political division. Let people send their kids to voodoo school if they want, as long as they learn how to read, write, add, and use a library so they can try to undo the nonsense of their parents if they are so inclined.

It should be taught in a class on religion/philisophy. It should not be taught as science.

We need to get to a point where science and religion do not clash. They are for the most part working in different domains: religion cannot put a man on the moon and science cannot explain the meaning of life or even human consciousness.
