~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XVI~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Wondering Soul I Fly

Wondering Soul I fly with the hurrying birds

and
I laugh with the whispering wind.
I roam with the wandering herds
and
rush with the river around the bend.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Click the picture for music!!

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus|
Underneath the mistletoe last night.
She didn't see me creep
down the stairs to have a peep;
She thought that I was tucked
up in my bedroom fast asleep.

Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white;
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night

Rubik

If the outsides' in and the inside out
or the outsides' up and the insides' down.
What is the outside of the in or
What is the inside of out?
What is the up side of the down?
What is the down side of the up?
The inside of the up side down, is the down side of the outside.
Whether the side is in or out or up or down is not the point.
The side is still the side and up or down is just a direction.

Good evening Ms. Feather, I've been gone all day working, but wanted to send you one of my favorite poems and songs

Mitch Miller - The Yellow Rose of Texas

There's a yellow rose in Texas
That I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her,
Not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her,
It like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her
We never more will part

Chorus

She's the sweetest little rosebud
That Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds,
They sparkle like the dew.
You may talk about your Clementine
And sing of Rosa Lee,
But the Yellow Rose of Texas
Is the only girl for me.

Where the Rio Grande is flowing,
And the starry skies are bright,
She walks along the river
In the quiet summer night,
I know that she remembers,
When we parted long ago,
I promised to return,
And not to leave her so.

Chorus

O, now I'm going to find her,
For my heart is full of woe,
We'll do the things together,
We did so long ago;
We'll play the banjo gaily,
She’ll love me like before,
And the Yellow Rose of Texas
Will be mine forevermore.

Daddy Fell into the Pond

Everyone grumbled. The sky was grey.
We had nothing to do and nothing to say.
We were nearing the end of a dismal day,
And then there seemed to be nothing beyond,
Then
Daddy fell into the pond!

And everyone's face grew merry and bright,
And Timothy danced for sheer delight.
"Give me the camera, quick, oh quick!
He's crawling out of the duckweed!" Click!

Then the gardener suddenly slapped his knee,
And doubled up, shaking silently,
And the ducks all quacked as if they were daft,
And it sounded as if the old drake laughed.
Oh, there wasn't a thing that didn't respond
When
Daddy Fell into the pond!

Alfred Noyes

VOICES OF ONE

Lightly December Winds blow
Touch of rememberance in the chilly air
Where hearts come together as one
Thankful for the many blessings from upon high

White milkiness of shinning stars
Touches you no matter where you are
Trees bend in the cool november wind
Hearts upon fire that begin as friends

Smile comes across my face
As I remember the sweet enchanted taste
Sweetened lips at sunrise
Dreamworld where you are only mine

Starry night starry light
Oh what I could wish for tonight
Awaken light from galaxies away
For the sweet things I pray

Cool shadows in the wind
Silhouettes of blowing trees
Midnight falling blowing leaves
Fly silently upon November winds

Night birds fly across the sky
Migrations north and south have arrived
Nature signaling emergence of comming winter
In the distance the sound of a tolling bell

Ringing in the hours one by one
When stars begin to fade
Awakening the dawn of a new day
Sun slowly brightens the horizon of shadow

Know within my hear of dreams
Distances between us reside
Where two souls are ready to fly
Overlapping dreams in sun awakened sky

Two hearts two dreams
Where together they create a final scene
Forever glistening as voices as one
Sharing together in the mid morning sun

REASON FOR THE SEASON

Glimmering distances beyond cold wet snow
Fills the valleys of Elevations below
Cascades of snow upon the winds
Dim reminder of bitter days ahead

In the city of David a child was born
Two centuries ago without sin
For the salvation of all who come after
This child in beggars rags in a stable

Three wise men followed the brightest star
To a manger only fit for animals
But yet the son of man was born
Who's devotion would stand till the end of time

Three wise men presented gifts and knelt to pray
Not fully knowing the future this child would play
Into the hearts of multitudes even unto this day
But only a child in this manger does he lay

So I say to each and everyone of you
May the love of that child shine through
Lift up your hearts and your prayers
Bless all of you this holiday season

Love is the reason we worship Jesus
During this holiday season
For the life he did give
So eternally we all shall live

SO the brotherhood of man may endure
Trials and tribulations we must go through
We celebrate the birth of our lord
All the year through Amen

Tumble Weed Aviation Mix

Tumble Weed Aviation Mix:
Two brothers and one sister with an idea for aviation at five years of age.
Ingredients:
Twenty tumble weeds tied together with a rope.
Expectations:
Waiting on dirt devils.
Results: One brother too fat;
maybe 40 tumble weeds needed and three dirt devils.
Next brother drug by his rump over a cactus bush.
One sister took off; screaming catch my feet.
