~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XVI~
November 6, 2004 | bentfeather and Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Lyrics I found

Nightwish - Sleepwalker
From the album "Over The Hill And Far Away"

Close your eyes
Feel the ocean where passion lies
Silently the senses
Abandon all defences

A place between
sleep and awake
End of innocence, unending masquerade
That's where I'll wait for you

Hold me near you
So close I sear you
Seeing, believing
Dreaming, decieving

A place between
sleep and awake
End of innocence, unending masquerade
That's where I'll wait for you

Sleepwalker seducing me
I dare to enter your ecstacy
Lay yourself now down to sleep
In my dreams you're mine to keep

Sleepwalker..

Sleepwalker..

(Sleepwalk with me...)

Sleepwalker seducing me
I dare to enter your ecstacy
Lay yourself now down to sleep
In my dreams you're mine... to... keep

American Rig

Eighteen wheels and a mile of chrome
Triple air horn, a trucker’s second home
Movin’ goods through the states
Shiftin’ gears and tempting fates

Hitch up, gear up, saddle up and go
Take that rig on down the road
Mind the bear, pay the toll
Let nothin' stop these rigs on a roll

Haul the load, get there on time
Keep your hand steady, hear the diesel whine
Roll with your CB, handle and heart
Get a good night’s sleep and an early start

Hitch up, gear up, saddle up and go
Take that rig on down the road
Mind the bear, pay the toll
Let nothin' stop these rigs on a roll

There’s a stretch of blacktop up ahead
There’s easier ways of livin’, but you chose this instead
Keep your rig straight, keep that rubber burnin’
Caus that rig of yours keeps America turning’

Hitch up, gear up, saddle up and go
Take that rig on down the road
Mind the bear, pay the toll
Let nothin' stop these rigs on a roll

The band is Nightwish, and their band history is found here:
http://www.nightwish.com/english/history.html

The lead singer is a female vocal, named Tarja.
She could have been an Opera singer judging from her voice.
She is an excellent vocalist.

Thanks for the link Darksheare. I will check it out. I did a quick search to see if I could find the tune. No luck yet, but will keep at it.

The way Tarja sings this one makes it sound pretty.

Nightwish - Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan

Kerran vain haaveeni nähdä sain
En pienuutta alla tähtien tuntenut
Kerran sain kehtooni kalterit
Vankina sieltä kirjettä kirjoitan

Luojani, luoksesi anna
minun tulla siksi miksi
lapseni minua luulee

Sinussa maailman launeus
Josta luolema teki minusta taiteilijan

Luojani, luoksesi anna
minun tulla siksi miksi
lapseni minua luulee

Oman taivaan tänne loin
Anna minun päästä pois

[translation as close as possible that I could find]

"Only once my dreams
I got to see
Didn't feel the smallness
under the stars
Once I got bars on my cradle
As a prisoner I write a letter from there

My Creator, let me come to you
as what my child thinks I am

In you the beauty of the world
From which made me an artist

My Creator, let me come to you
as what my child thinks I am

Created my own heaven here
Let me get away"

You'll have better luck lookig for it as an MP3, and slogging through hundreds of websites before finding it.
