What sort of stuff do you want to ... do? We don't have any initiation process, like making you yell "Bush/Cheney!" in the middle of Boulder, CO, Berkeley, CA, or Ithaca, NY. At least not yet.

Well, your profile page looks pretty promising. Now what you need to do is observe for a while, post a few comments, and when you find something worthwhile, start a thread. Get the feel for the place and you'll be less likely to make mistakes.
