The snow is gone here, washed away by a day and a half of rain and temps on the forties.

The c/r just tried the gadget with his old laptop. It worked for 7-1/2 minutes.

It's going back to the store. If they offer another one, great, but the c/r thiks it better to get one of the same brand as the rest of the networking gadgetry in the house, should such ever come on sale. Meanwhile, I'm hardwired again.
