Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So... I'm kind of humiliated here... somehow I picked up some virii. I bet it was yesterday, I met some people at a coffeeshop and we used the wireless there...
Norton's found three unique virii already. Admittedly they're apparently not that harmful... but.... gah. This doesn't happen to me.

G'dafternoon... I went clothes shopping today. As you may be aware, this is as traumatic and to-be-avoided for your average guy as picking out a new transmission rebuild kit-- and using it-- is for your average girl.
But my pants are getting too big, so it must be done.

At least I have Norton... I have it run a scan at least once a week while I'm out. And I use Spybot and Ad-aware religiously.
Norton makes the bad files stop affecting things, but it won't clean out the registry, so I have to research each virus it finds to see what manual steps I need to take.

Too big? That sounds like good news...
I have a male view of shopping for clothes - get in, get what you came for, get out, before the mall explodes.

I don't have boots! The snow will get inside my shoes and I hate that.

Well, I think you'd better be hinting about some boots for Christmas if you are going to live in Colorado!

Yes...from 40" to 38"...was tempted to try 36", but I think I'll wait until spring.
If I could make my age work that way, with proper diet and exercise of course :)

boots...
I still have the ones Uncle Sam gave me. Haven't worn'em since.
Of course, I haven't been participating in a lot of winter activities either...

I already asked for a new pair of sneakers. Mine are almost worn through, and the only kind that help with my flat feet are, oh $60, which is a lot for me to plunk down.
I'll keep my eyes open for boots on sale.

Congrats on the pants! It's great to lose a size...
Heh, let's just say my shopping habits make my mother, grandmother, and sisters nuts...

Clothes shopping with my mom:
"Go try this on."
"Mo-om, its the same size as the other five."
"They're all made a little different. Now go try it on."
Of course, it fit...just like the other five...

Now imagine being a girl... and having to try the same exact shirt in three different colors, including purple, which I hate. Or the same shirt, only with a different color style. And then, matching shoes to the dress! I don't think so!

Wireless is really fun for laptops. Is it any kind of thrill on a desktop?

It doesn't go. At all.
Well, it did. For about five minutes. Then it quit.
Same thing happened yesterday. I felt like fussing with it then.
Not today. Today I told the c/r he's welcome to take it for what I paid for it Friday, or I'll take it back.
Life is too short to be frustratedly fussing with unnecessary luxuries.

I'm bored, but not bored enough to just study something. Ungh.
