The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Except maybe you could say "from his friend, Joshua, son of..."

Cause they really are good friends.

LOL!! I document my entire life.

I'm getting away from so many digital pics though, because I don't want to haul the digital camera around. The disposable cameras at Walmart are cheap and York develops them and puts them online for about $4.

I just keep a camera in my purse at all times!

Here's Matthew's homeschool baseball team...Celeste is in the red shirt...

I'd like to have a Freeper Foxhole presence to increase traffic. And the purpose is to exchange ideas and product reviews. There will be no appeals for donations, but people know how to find us if they want to donate, or want a knife.

Does that make sense?

OK - but you haven't worked with anyone in particular at the Foxhole, this is just your idea?

OK - so the title and purpose of the thread is "Troop Support - Beyond candy: What to send? practical advice and exchange of ideas regarding what is needed in the field"

Too many words, but is that the idea? Work with me a little? I think I am getting closer to getting it! :~D

Hallelujah pass the pancakes! I just got the backup dvd from Best Buy. Came by work to put a couple more hours in - tomorrow morning I'm waiting at home for my hard drive - and checked it out. The files, the ones I really truly care about, are there. My NaNo story is there. My half-complete master-work is there. My AI semester project, there!

So I lost my music. I've got a dozen cds to get by, my sis is emailing back all the J-pop, and I'll get the rest when I go home for Christmas.

It certainly is! And I've learned my lesson... for six weeks, or so, at least. But honestly, these files represent so many hours of my time... sure, most of it's crap, but it's my crap, y'know?

Plus I got back my code and while I didn't have to have that, it might make future assignments easier.

Matthew's doing good...throat is still bothering him and he's pretty much stayed on the couch all day. He's taken a lot of breaks, but he's practically done with his school.

I gave him an advil and got the tub ready for a hot soak. I don't know if he cares or not, but when I'm not feeling good, a hot soak (or in his case, a rather warm soak) just makes me feel a lot better.

Let me ask you...are you like, AWASH with relief? That's how I felt. Waves of relief just kept sweeping over me! LOL I'd just be sittin there and all of a sudden I'd think "Oh thank God." Ha! Funny, I know...but I was mighty relieved.

Dunno if it's awash... but I was singing "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation" as I confirmed that these things are here. Literally singing.

Hi LCS!

I appreciate your computer difficulties now, having been nearly computerless for five days. When are you getting a box, anyway?

Sorry, computer jargon! I spend too much time around nerds these days.

I've been pricing desktops lately... you can get a very nice mashine for less than $400, and then just add on the monitor etcetera.
