Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
You had a digital camera that long ago? Or you just scanned 'em all in?
You didn't actually lose them, did you?
your taunting me, aren't you?...
give me strength...
Good morning, g'nad!
My mom had a digital camera...she took them and I had them on my old PC...then I had them on that hosting site that screwed so many people...can't remember the name, but I got them all off and got them on the imac. Then when we bought the new PC, I transfered them onto the new PC with the intent of burning them onto a CD...but never did.
They were able to recover my entire harddrive and put it on a new harddrive...so I got the chance and burned them onto a CD.
I'm glad you didn't lose them!
I really am considering getting a cheap desktop for backup and storage and such. I can almost justify it, with what I do.
So... at Shootmoot, are we going to have one solid day of Trilogy, or spread it out over the week?
So...I didn't quite get it. Was Best Buy able to help?
Ugh...we have a new virus on campus...been hunting all morning and now taking a quick break before heading out again. And I'm sleepy.
They say they were able to rescue about half of my documents and such. None of the music. But I don't know which half, it could very well be the half that I actually have backed up. Or it could be the... well, there are about ten files that I'd give my left leg for.
I am such a moron. Idiot. Stupid person.
Oh - is it the midimapping.dll thing? We got warned about that but our servers look ok, at least. Norton's not touching it, apparently.
When do you get to stop by and find out?
I haven't looked it up. I think it's a Gaobot (aka Agobot) variant, but the files are detected as being infected with "Morphine". It uses network shares to spread...which normally means it's all but impossible to spread, BUT we found out the hard way that if someone with administrative access to the network logs in to an infected machine...it likes it.
The newest version of McAfee zaps it. The older version, even with current definition files, doesn't.
Well, I'm picking up the files this afternoon. I hope they'll be able to give me a list and not just hand me the disks. Of course, if my hard drive comes, who cares, I can find out myself...
Oh, that's different from our problem, then.
Ugh - that sounds nasty!
Just wish we knew where it came from in the first place!
Luckily the way the network is partitioned now, this isn't near as big of a problem as Nachi was for us last year. Now it can only spread on one floor of one building...unless someone starts carting an infected machine to different parts of the campus, anyway.
Burning one more disc with tools on it and then I'm heading out.
On the bright side, while waiting for installs...I can write. Wrote probably close to a thousand words this morning...I hope. In my notebook, which means I have to type it in later, but it's better than nothing.
See ya later....
Sigh... my writing is stuck in my head... and I'm going mad...
Blowing out six candles!
Looking at cards!
Scored big with a new set of Hot Wheels from Dad!
A Bionicle from Matthew
A Classic Volkswagon (from Mom, of course.)
I love my six-year old!
Time for cake!
Family...
A nifty picture Matthew drew, while waiting for his supper to arrive...
Cool pics! Drawing right on the table are we? ;~D
LOL Yep...tanks, black hawks and surface to air missiles...
