The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Coolness! I'd love to see it.

I can't imagine being happy in a church large enough to pull that sort of thing off. It's amazing that there are so many different sorts of people.

An insulated travel mug is a nice gift. Does the car have a cassette or CD player? Something in which to hold and store cassettes or CDs to keep them from falling all over the place is nice. I've asked for a visor sleeve that holds CDs. There's another idea; a visor organizer to hold pens, memo pad, whatever.

Yeah, great idea! Then I can write as I drive... no? That's not it?

I have a cd holder thing. It seems to smudge my cds sometimes, though, and I don't know why.

Does her school have uniforms that can be ordered online? I know Penneys sells school uniforms as does Talbots and Lands End. Even Wal Mart sells school uniforms now! We saw them when we were down at Perdido Key!

Previous on the playlist was Santana's "Smooth".

When that song came out, our older son was listening to the radio one day, and it came on. I'd never heard it before, but I said "That's Carlos Santana", My son said that it was Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20 singing the song. I said, "that may be, but that's Santana playing the guitar", and I was right. I hadn't heard anything by him in over 20 years, but his playing is that distinctive!

I went out and bought "Supernatural" the next day.
