The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Actually, you can see part of a box in that pic. Lower left. Boxes and boxes and boxes. Books, mostly.

He seems to have a natural instinct to react on stage, especially when something goes wrong. He can adapt immediately.

Maybe he ought to re-think the football idea, and start thinking Theatre Arts.

Boxes of books aren't junk. They are merely waiting for a new bookshelf.

I think there's only so much math he needs...

Yeah, we're trying to figure all that out.

I bought some Cinnamon Spice coffee from Dunkin Donuts last week. It is just AWESOME!

He's quite "swishy",

Eeeeeewie!

I believe he has his own line of homewares at Burlington Coat Factory, doesn't he?

Bed and bath sets. There's a line of paints, supposedly, but I don't know who carries it.

*sigh* My poor books.

Big bookshelves are also budgeted. :)

Trying to "figure" it out, huh?

I'm biased toward math, I think if you can do it, you should get through at least Calc 1 just because. But if there's no need... sigh. I just remember all the hours suffering through vectors.

He needs to start the "Happy Talk".

He's caught on to that.

("We LOVE that! Don't we girls?")

ROTFL!! He is a bit too swishy for me, though he does have some great ideas from time to time. I love his idea of a closet designed for accessories that you can pull out when the season calls for them. You don't have to go searching through the attic or anything, it's just there, and you can easily change out decorations as needed.

I was starting to wonder if your priorities were out of whack! I see a table and chairs... those sort of things come after basic necessities like bookshelves...

We tried to convince him he could go to Tech on a band scholarship. Plus he says he wants to do video production and our alma mater is much better for that.

But it's a small school without a football team.

Yes, it is the thought that counts! Though I didn't need a shovel yesterday, I do need an ice scraper today. Have to clean the truck and go shopping today (sigh).

Dunkin Donuts coffee is awesome, isn't it?

I haven't had one of their donuts in awhile for obvious reasons, but GOSH I love their coffee? And there are stores in every town 'round here, so it's always available.

I may have to get that book myself, just to see what I'm missing. Seems some of the GRITS ideas were designed for the Jr. League crowd, and I ain't one of them. ;o)

I'm biased toward math, I think if you can do it, you should get through at least Calc 1 just because.

Because why?

I stopped at Algebra II my sophomore year. I've taken a couple of accounting classes since, but that's it.

I can balance a check book, count calories and figure out how much food to buy for a reception for 200.

What on early would I need calculus for?

Maybe I'm stupid, but doesn't not being on the football team this year sort of put a hole in his chances of playing in college?
