The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

*sigh*

It's so easy to say, but so hard to actually take action on. And I'm afraid that I'd spend the rest of my life wondering what had become of them. But...I think that stress would probably be less than what I'm dealing with now.

Maybe you could find them homes with people you know?...

It's really easy for me to say, since I'm not responsible for any critters. I'm sure it's much harder for you.

I'll be happy if the roads are clear tomorrow! Honestly, the snowplow still hasn't been by... well, as long as the bus can make it...

Evenin'. I'm back from tech rehearsal. I'm only in the first scene of Act I so I brought Luke home a couple of hours ago. We had to do a project for school tomorrow. He's the "Star Student" this week.

~sigh~ new TV configuration (to accommodate Christmas tree) isn't working. Just means the crap Nana is watching is that much louder in the office. That's okay. She gets the brace off on Wednesday. Then we'll be able to say "We're going to watch THIS on THIS TV..."

In other news, I'm about to balance the checkbook and pay some bills. I don't expect to be the Happy Dwarf tonite...

I got another bill from thedentist. Says I owe him another $700 bucks because of what insurance would pay. He can bite my butt. I paid what they told me to pay. They can fight it out with the insurance company. I'll be sending that in writing this week.

You are going to say "bite my butt" in writing?

I'll want to see a copy of that! :~D

I watched FMA with Clare and Joseph last night. From the expressions and drawings used in the show, I realize now that the animated show "Belle and Sebastian" from the late 80's must have been anime. I didn't even know what the art form was then.

I might have to save that one for in person. But I'll take pictures...

I don't know that show... but it's probable!

Oh, they picked a good show to show you! Are you watching a fansub or the dub on Cartoon Network (I hate the dub. Ed's voice is all wrong).

Whose fault, dentist or insurance? Sheesh, like you enjoyed having your teeth drilled.

You know... sometimes I'm amazed that you don't just take Nana to a mall or something and leave her there...

I'm blaming thedentist. I paid what they told me I'd have to pay. PLUS, they did the x-rays before they told me I'd used up my benefits (which they knew at the time).

You know... sometimes I'm amazed that you don't just take Nana to a mall or something and leave her there...

Nah, I can't really blame her. I just wanted to work at the desk and watch TV (I am now). She hasn't really been "out" since the end of August (other than travelling to the doctor or the nursing home).

I will admit to dropping my shoe when I realized she was asleep in front of the TV...

Hehehe.... well... you're a good person. Except for the shoe thing.

My grandmother had better never get sick and move in with us. It would be a race to see who smothered her first, Dad, Mom, or one of the kids...

Hi,
msdrby here.

PE is currently in the attic. He is wiring up an outlet for the 'puter.

He went to Fry's and then to Lowes to get all the parts, and is up in the attic right now dropping a cat-5 line into a particular wall cavity as we speak. I think he already dropped it to the main phone line. Next he has to get down from up there and connect everything.

I told him I was praying not to have a Corin episode where he falls through the ceiling or possibly something worse. His response was "Believe me, that is ALL I can think about!"

Well, it would've been more mature for me to say "Mom, if you're not watching the TV..."

~Sticklebats~ wife and Jr. just got home from rehearsal. Tomorrow night was changed from a tech rehearsal for Act 2 to a full dress rehearsal of the full show. Don't get me wrong, we need it...

Just saw the weather... it's supposed to be about 20 degrees for a high tomorrow, and windy. Not too terrible, I'm used to worse, but the weather bimbo was whining. Ha...
