Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That is great news, I am really, really glad to have been wrong with the long distance diagnosis.

Two weeks it's been broke down...but he never had the time to look at it!
Also, do you remember when our limb broke off the tree a while back? Well, the tree died. Steve also hauled the tree down, because it could fall on our house or on someone driving by!
He also mowed for the final time today for this season...the yard was very overgrown!

Well, it's got something wrong with the power steering...it keeps loosing it's fluid. And it veers to the right. I'll need to get that checked, but hopefully it can wait till after we recover from Christmas!

It's a shame he's so busy! Guess if it was his car he'd have had to find time...

But would it really work with a Creche? The ox, the donkey, the flamingo? It would give a certain Island flare to it. They cattle and mules, might just work. It's a matter of theological interpretation.
Besides, since they didn't actually show up until he was almost 2 years old, the flamingo would be as Biblically accurate as the Wise Men at the manger.

That's good news. And even better that you didn't drive it until January (if you could have) like that...

He's had to take time off once to fix his truck...which was really bad because he had a take home test he had to work on and he almost didn't make it to his study group. But he got it fixed and made it a little late. That was a couple of weeks ago...when Joshua had the birthday party? He got the truck started, took us to the party and then went to his study group. A friend at the party gave us a ride home.
I gotta go! See you later! Steve has his study group tomorrow...I'll check in then!

the flamingo would be as Biblically accurate as the Wise Men Sometimes they show Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by Flamingos here in Florida.
To: Corin Stormhands
I've seen Santa Claus and Frosty in with the Nativity. Pink flamingoes aren't any more sacriligeous or inaccurate.
Speaking of Nativitys, the current cd is Michael Card's "The Promise", which is a great album. One song for each Nativity person, and also for the Wise Guys.

Looks vey festive! I bought some new lights this year for the bushes in front of the house. All the old ones worked on one half of the string, but not on the other; vey strange! I also bought a thin 4 1/2 ft. tree in a planter that was pre-lit. JoAnn Fabrics had it for $30!! It was supposedly $70 off, but I certainly would never have paid $100 for that tree. I'll use it in the set up for the Pictures with St. Nicholas that my Girl Scouts are going to do next weekend at the Parish school's Holly Fair.

We got a Christmas ornament with an Island Santa. Sandles, shorts, couple of pelicans standing by him. When we were at Entmoot, I got a flamingo ornament, and while at Perdido Key this year I found a snowman ornament with a beach towel and sunglasses! Vey cute!
