The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

1000 here.

And that doesn't count my 1000 to make up for yesterday.

I don't feel like it.

Evening Corin, just got back our ownselfs. Went to the moving picture show. Third one this year. "National Treasure". Quite enjoyable, you'd recognize a lot of the places.

Heading out to take Gypsygirl for her walk. BBL

I feel like bed.

I have a stomach ache for no apparent reason. I suppose it might have something to do with my drinking nothing but coffee and plenty of it all day today. Duh.

I'm kinda stuck with my writing, which is why I haven't written much. I mean...this being a journal, there should be SOME things she talks about besides romance. And there's a problem there, too, in that she needs to fall for him fairly gradually, I think...but I'm already crazy about him, so it's hard to write gradual.

And none of this is turning out very realistic anymore. Not that it matters...but it does bother me a bit.

Yeah, but we've got a real man for President now. Not like the 'toon.

I remember when "Independence Day" and "Air Force One" came out during the Clinton years.

I kept thinking that neither scenario was plausible with The Impeached Rapist.

Ya know...considering I fall for characters in MY lousy writing...I have to wonder how Jane Austen ever managed! Maybe that's why she never married? ;-)

I was reminded of ID when W was standing on that rubble in NYC with the loud speaker...

My writing today has been miserable. I even took a nap this afternoon because it's cold and quiet today. My homework is... progressing at the rate at which I expected and I can't seem to motivate myself to get ahead. I don't want to read, write, watch anything, study anything... in short I am a slug.

Good Evening...

Most everything checked off the list at break of day...

The "ame night" was instead of the 3d IMAX Polar Express...but that's OK...

So what's next?

I know it! I remember thinking that the parallels were uncanny!

Funny thing is, I actually did think (and mentioned to Steve), while watching ID for the first time..."That's the kind of president we need!" And that was the kind of president we got, just when we needed him the most.

I reminded Steve about that in 2001.

Ya know...speaking of cheap...keyboards ain't exactly expensive. ;-)

Well...most aren't, anyway. I still want to get one for the Pocket PC I have from work...i.e. didn't have to pay for. But that kinda keyboard is fifty bucks. Ouch.
