Remember everyone, that President Bush received a large percentage of the Hispanic vote. Some say over 60% in Florida. Similar results in New Mexico. Hispanics are a conservative voting bloc. Please dont antagonize, or disrespect, this huge voting bloc. Consider and future of your conservative party. Pete Wilson lost California for generations to come, please dont commit the same mistake. Love your neighbor. Love you all, congrats.
I take it you are hispanic? I am interested in your opinion - the hispanics who voted for Bush, what do you feel is their typical opinion on the illegal immigration issue?
I don't disrespect any LEGAL Americans of Hispanic origon.
Or if they are here legally.
He sure did and I am so happy about that! In my area of California, the party has been reaching out to the Hispanic community for some time.
All you have to do is to listen to an Hispanic radio station to know that they are conservatives in many ways.
I love all my non-communist neighbors! I hate all my communist ones, don't you?
Fair enough. Good news all around anyway. Hope future GOP candidates can keep it up. Love the term "necro-Americans".
I am curious. Exactly why did the Hispanic community vote for Bush?
America, where you don't have to love your neighbor,ya leave the bast@rd alone!
I work with many hispanic's and they either voted for Bush,
or wanted too!!!
So this means that Hispanics are only conservative as long as no one ticks them off?
True in Little Havana. Too broad otherwise.
Cubans tend to be conservative (excluding the Mariel Boatlift thugs).
Religious Mexicans are socially conservative but tend socialist due to what PRI has done to their homeland.
Nonreligious Mexicans tend socialist unless they own their businesses...capitalism is a wonderful thing.
Those from Dominican Republican and Puerto Rico are overwhelming part of the Dimwit plantation and treated as such by the Dimwits. Look no further than New York City. Even those who serve in the U.S. military tend to vote Dimwit.
Those from Central and South America tend to be slightly more conservative than all but the Cubans, particularly on the social issues.
Definitely no need to insult hispanics. OTOH, it is a Pollyanna view to state hispanics as a group are a conservative voting bloc.
I am a hispanic man who proudly voted for Bush in both elections. Though I am military, I also admit to not agreeing with him on some issues. What I respect about President Bush, is his integrity, his moral fiber, and most importantly, his conviction. He is a man driven by what is right, not by what will give him the highest poll numbers.
They are like anyone else actually. Some liberal, some conservative. Gee, who'd a thunk it! :-)
Yes but look at california. What a mess in large part due to illegal mexicans. Don't Californicate the rest of the USA....
Y'know, I really resent what you are implying.
FReepers are not racists. They just don't like people who break the law NO MATTER WHAT COLOR OF SKIN THEY HAVE. And those people don't vote - or at least illegal aliens aren't SUPPOSED to vote.
I think you owe the good people of this forum an apology.
The forum, BTW, which is composed of Hispanics, too. Or didn't you know that?
The immigration issue has to be handled carefully. Anytime there is a round up or law passed affecting immigrants, the spanish language media sensationalizes it and amkes the government look heavy handed. This makes people a little nervous. It should always be presented as proctecting our country, while respecting those who don't hurt anybody.
