The White House--President Bush has issued Executive Order 2004-01D, ordering the Selective Service System to immediately begin a plan to draft male youths between the ages of 18 and 22 for military conscription.
"I believe Charlie Rangel was right a few weeks back," the newly re-elected President said, as he addressed stunned reporters in the Oval Office. "I want to get about fifteen to twenty thousand high school kids into boot camp."
When one reporter tried to remind President Bush of his campaign pledge to not instate a draft, the Commander in Chief waved a finger at him and said, "No no, son. I know where you live."
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said the goal of the new draft was to induct mostly poor and middle class kids into the service. Rumsfeld said he would do his best to keep the rich from having to serve.
Immediately after signing the Draft Order, Bush then proceeded to issue a directive to the Department of the Treasury to begin an immediate reduction of 33% in all Social Security benefit checks sent to beneficiaries.
"We are gonna need that money to pay Halliburton," explained the President. "Some of them old folks can try Alpo for a while. It won't hurt them."

Why do I just have this feeling that this tongue in cheek post will appear in my inbox within an hour from some of my more deranged liberal friends?

You know, that's pretty funny ... with the exception that the jackass liberals will probably take it, cut-and-paste it into emails, and send it out in e-mails. Watch for that Executive Order number which you cooked up to appear in cook-left conspiracy stuff.

If your post is indicative that you realize now that the POTUS has no plan of drafting young folks into the military, do remember just what democrate congressmen and what democrate senator drafted bills to actually try to re-instate the draft for those people between 18 and 26.
And please do ( I hope you do at this point ), realize who brought up the issue of a draft during the past few months in hopes of scaring young voters.
Do understand just how evil and almost always at this point in time the democratic party works not for the best interests of all Americans, but only for a portion at the expense at the rest.
I hope this election has brought your level in understanding how out of touch many left leaning democrates have become. There is a huge difference in the left and the right. I hope that in time you will find to be true,
the fact that some far right ultra conservative values and political leanings may at times not be in the best interest of all Americans from a personal wealth view point, BUT, I hope you will come to see how the right always works hard at maintaining a strong military force to protect our country, both in offensive/defensive, as well as just posturing itself to show the world that this country will not stand by in idle mode when evil forces raise up to either attack the citizentry of America and or try to alter the balance between free democracies and the terroists and dictatorial regimes.
America is so special. And it deserves only neutral or right leaning leaders to guide it and keep it strong.
Perhaps you will move to the right as time and knowledge is more known to you to see the differene between a Nancy Polosie, Calf. rep. and the main stream right.
