I was nervous until the Packers beat the Redskins on Sunday and then I recalled that the incumbent party wins when the Redskins win their last home game as long as it isn't against the Packers. Check it out if you don't believe me.

I thought we were toast and almost didn't go to the Election Night party for the local Republicans. I did it only to have other kindred spirits which whom to lament.

What a pleasant surprise to walk in and see electoral votes on the tube with an (R) behind them!

Was almot in a panic (literally started to feel ill) but Brit and the guys on Fox turned it around -- they started lookin like they knew better, and I knew it would be OK. We briefly switched to CNN to see what they looked like and Larry King was literally slumped over the desk -that said it all. How sweet it all is -- we have the senate, the house Our Dear President and the Supreme Court Judges will be the right judges.....GOD HAS A BIG BROOM! Swept the 'Rats away!!!!!!

When I heard about the exit polls and saw that the Intrade/Sportstrade "Bush wins" contract was at 28 cents on the dollar, I bought some. I never believed a Bush win was in doubt. In fact, Bush's win was smaller than I expected, but the Senate wins were awesome (except poor Peter Coors).

I did not watch the news or even look at FR yesterday until midnight eastern time. I knew everything said during the day was BS, and nothing mattered until the votes came in. I missed all the exit poll drama, thankfully.

I have to admit I too felt completely depressed last evening. I was driving home at 6PM and managed to find a station that had Sean Hannity's show on and listening to the end of it when he asked everyone to pray for President Bush- I thought this is it. I just remember telling my wife-" "how could the poeple in this country elect John Kerry?" I truly did not foresee what was going to happen. Especially in light of the Florida fiasco of 2000 and the VNS meldown of '02- I figured the exit polls would be run tighter than a nun's shoe. This proves yet again that without a doubt- the American Public simply CANNOT trust what we are told my the MSM.

I couldn't believe that I am so outside the main stream of America. My heart was racing and I was getting very down, but I kept checking here and found the voice of reason telling me to ignore the exit polls.

We should remember this. WE ARE THE MAJORITY. WE ARE THE ADULTS, WHO DO THE HEAVY LIFTING. Its the "rats" who are the minority, monday morning quarterbacks, who act like immature children.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

My wife was ready to strangle me. I didn't relax until FOX called Florida and Ohio.

I think that is when I began to worry. Even Jack Welch on Neil Cavuto's show had a long face. That is when we began to watch.

Never! Will everyone please forget about these exit polls!

They were rigged in advance as part of 'the script'. Hello!

I never believed the exit polls for a minute. I was only worried that this dirty trick could affect the outcome. It probably did, but only at the margins.

"It was this website that started to give me hope..."

And the chat room! It kept me sane!

It didn't however, keep me sober, slept until 9 am, and no work today!

LOL, Rush playing the whole "Back to Ohio" song, RIGHT NOW.

Very amusing!

I haven't been depressed. The other night I was thinking that the Dems were going to learn a hard lesson:

A man without conviction is a man without passion.
And a man without passion is only good for...
selling Viagra.
(Apologies to Bob Dole.)

I came in from doing yard work around 2:30 p.m., didn't turn on the television but went to Free Republic instead. When I saw all the threads concerning exit polls my heart sank. Then I started reading the posts from everyone and my heart sank even further. From those posts I got the general feeling that we had lost.

I went back outside and didn't come in until 6. I turned on FNC and watched until 2:30 a.m. As the night wore on I became more optimistic about the race (many ups and downs throughout the night) and today, thank goodness, my optimism was confirmed. Our guy won!

Thank God several Freepers posted multiple links to an excellent, in-depth article from an experienced pollster explaining exactly how and why exit polling is so unreliable -- reading that article calmed my mind considerably.

I turned on FOX news and thought they were giving Bush a eulogy. Man were they tricked.
