Why can't I access some posts today? I get the message "document not found on this server".

Jim, a couple of thoughts about the problems.
Is there any way to prevent vanity threads temporarily?
Also, perhaps shutting off new signups for a couple of days?

I've been making ad hoc changes to the system both in diagnosing and fending off a couple DoS attacks and other general performance issues we've experienced today. Sometimes the untested changes I've thrown into the mix are plain screwed up. That's my fault.

That came out wrong, I think.
I meant it to mean "thanks for all your efforts in creating/keeping FR." I know it is a lot of effort. When we win tomorrow, it will be in no small part thanks to FR!!
I hope that meaning came out OK. :)

Thanks for all you guys do on the back side to keep us on the front side happy! My best wishes that tommorrow that we not only deliver a Bush Victory, but that they DUmmie activity is at a minimum... But alas I feel that many will be troll hunting tommorrow.. Thanks again Jim and all the techs behind the scenes you guys are the best! :)

Thank you very much for your replies and reassurance. Things seem to be better now. I have been suffering from PEAD, and FReeping is the best rememdy. I think I'm a junkie.
Tomorrow is a long day, I'm an election judge. It's my way of "giving back", which I started doing since 9/11.
