OH NO! I love Steve Malzberg. This sucks.
Uh, you know anything? Freepmail me.
NY miscellaneous ping
Updated website? Announcement on Friday? New affiliation? Methinks Steve has a better job with a better timeslot. I don't blame him, he's too good for overnights.
Yeah, this sucks... :-(
I agree. I'll bet he is moving to WOR 710. If that's true, then I can't call it We're Old Radio anymore *lol* If he replaced The Bloviator I'd be happy because I like Bob Grant.
HUH?! Why?
Does anyone know what happened to Steve Malzberg and WABC?
I listen to Curtis and Kuby in the morning, and most of Mark Levin's show. Sometimes Mike Savage's rants are irresistable. Other than that, Sunday mornings won't be the same. He had the best interviews, esp. when he got into it with Alan Colmes.
He might be competing head-to-head with Rush. O'Reilly is on WOR I discover as I check the website.
I have Rush24 so I don't have to play it at my job (so I don't offend the libs!). I tried listening to Bill a few times and got bored. Bob Grant is still on and more cranky than ever, but makes more sense than that LOATHESOME Sam Greenfield on 1600. I can't imagine who he may be replacing if WOR is the station though.
WOR = We're Old Radio
Very good. LOL! :)
Why does it "suck"?
It sounds to me as if Malzberg is leaving by choice. I always wished that Rush would have given him a chance to host the big show. WABC has always relegated him to hours when few listen. Malzberg should have gotten the afternoon show instead of the empty suit they have there now. I used to have WABC on all the time. Now I only listen when Rush is on. They even destroyed "Religion on the Line."
ML/NJ
I lived in NJ and couldn't get 1600. I could get 710 and 770, though. How old is Bob Grant these days?
He has to be over 80. Last time I saw him he looked a little owl-ish, a bit thin but otherwise still the same personality.
Its a shame, as I now get to listen to him at the more convenient time of 10 to 2 on the West Coast (via the internet). WABC will never be the same. I've never cared for that Crowley chick, although at least they still have Curtis and Kuby.
I would like to announce to all of you that I have left WABC Radio after 23 years and seven months at the station. My last show was Sunday morning. Please check back to this site on Friday at 11AM. I will the be able to tell you about my new affiliation, which begins next week at a radio station here in New York City. It will also be available on the web via live streaming, for you many fans who live outside of the New York listening area. I appreciate all of the support you have given to me over the years. Leaving the overnight's with a 10.1 share and the title of #1 in the entire market is a real thrill. And I also feel compelled to point out that when The Buzz was cancelled, Richard Bey and I were the #1 AM station at 6PM with a 4.1 in 12+. We also had a huge 3.5 in the 35-54 demo. I will need your support now more than ever. Please be patient. Check back on Friday. Thanks, and stay safe.
I've grown to like Monica, esp. on Saturdays and Sundays. How can I forget Laura Ingraham? I don't care for the Batchelor show, it's boring.
Can't forget the ever-entertaining Mark Levin!
