I don't see this as a solution to the "energy problem". It may be a solution to the manure or sewage problem.

There aren't any to speak of, as most farmers use manure as fertilizer.

IOW, using manure as fertilizer causes environmental problems.

This idea is just another load. Imagine if you will gathering cow pies out of every inch of a pasture. The energy consumed to do that (after all, the fresher the pie, the more energy is available from the composting) would likely exceed the energy harvested -- and the effort expended by the farmer would not be inconsiderable.

This is just another "pie in the sky".
