In this unrefined neck o' the woods, we usually include "cleaned and cooked" between your two steps. ;)SUSHI? perhaps?

That picture is grounds to have you suspended from Free Republic, your cable modem confiscated, and you should be foreced to used a TRS80 on a 300 baud modem the rest of your born days !

Thanks for posting this. I particularly shake my head at the WE MUST SUPPORT PRESIDENT BUSH!!!! or similarly worded threads. WTH??? Do they think they've landed on some kind of intertard web site and we're just waiting for someone to lead us to knowledge?! I've tried not to mock too much, but time's awasting and so are my nerves.

See your tagline? :)
Don't worry. If the management of FR had a problem with prayer threads, they'd (he'd!) stop it.

Prayer is a powerful thing.
There are certain things we joke about a FR.
PRAYER THREADS are not one of them
Amen!

Why single out the newbies? You old-timers seem to do a fine job all by yourselves .

Management? We have management? Sheesh!! Who knew? OK OK, bad term. What do you call somebody who herds cats? A cat wrangler? Cat cowboy? Feline facilitator? :)
All kidding aside, this is a good thread for venting and goofing off.
Check that. Just thinking about that poor fish Spodefly caught drove me to the kitchen for some fish sticks.
I know I'm about tired of this Election. I just want it over with a Landslide Bush Victory. WooHoo!
I'll be election judging all day on Nov 2, so I'll miss the commentary here (at least until I get home around 3 AM after the after party at the Republican party headquarters). The one in 2000 was a hoot - my pockets were bulging with business cards and phone numbers, I got three contract jobs as a direct result of that evening, and I officially became hooked on 20 year old Scotch.

Perhaps, but here we call it BAIT. (There's a bait vending machine outside one of my favorite restaurants. I've never been tempted to order anything from the machine, however.) ;)

A vanity from an "oldbie" is usually one I want to read. The newbies can like it or lump it.

Since so many of you don't like the newbies (like me) who join this wonderful forum does that mean that you once did not like yourself when you were a newbie? When does one go from being a newbie to an oldie or whatever you call yourselves? It's just that there are rules so we all get the most out of FR.
Anyone, including newbies(we like newbies that adhere to the basic rules) can post vanities, just put them in "chat" where they belong.
News/activism or Breaking News are the wrong place to post things like questions, personal opinions, etc.
Since FR has swelled in membership threads like this one is one way to get the word out regarding how to get the most out of this forum, that's not to much to ask.

I agree some people need a big loading dose of Prozac. Heck, I don't know how long I've been posting here but these Miss Snootypoots who are constantly harping about the way someone posts something really chaps my gluteus. Forget the tinfoil hats some of you people need brown shirts. The great thing about Free Republic is that it gives everyone of us Conservatives a voice. It's very cathartic to get on here and let your feelings be known or to ask for help. It's a given that someone will get on here with a thought that they believe is true and get shot down by the etiquette police. Heck, someone probably razzed Buckhead about his use of syntax or something.
Give it a rest.
