Re: ABC's Good Morning America to Provide Coverage of VeriChip{Mark of the Beast}

Bio-chip implant "VeriPay" arrives for cashless checkless society... At a global security conference held on November 21, 2003, in Paris, an American company, Applied Digital Solutions, announced a new syringe-injectable microchip "VeriPay" implant for humans, designed to be used as a fraud-proof payment method for cash and credit-card transactions. The chip implant is being presented as an advance over credit cards and smart cards, which, absent biometrics and appropriate safeguard technologies, are subject to theft, resulting in identity fraud. Cashless payment systems are now part of a larger technology development subset: government identification experiments that seek to combine cashless payment applications with national ID information on media (such as a "smart" card), which contain a whole host of government, personal, employment and commercial data and applications on a single, contactless RFID chip. "We are the only ones out there offering implantable ID technology," said Silverman, who announced the "VeriPay" service during a speech Friday at ID World 2003 in Paris. "We believe the market will evolve to use our product." VeriPay - Your Cash Register on the move... You can now accept credit card payments from your customers anywhere and anytime. All you need is a standard GSM mobile phone, which becomes an EFTPOS terminal in your pocket. You don't even need to make a phone call - transaction details are simply sent as an SMS text message and confirmed within a few seconds. Ensure the card is good and money is in your bank before you leave the job. No more end-of-day paperwork, visits to the bank or double handling of transactions. U.N. meeting hears proposal for global human database, ID numbers, to register everyone… Every person in the world would be fingerprinted and registered under a universal identification scheme to fight illegal immigration and people smuggling outlined at a United Nations meeting today. The plan was put forward by Pascal Smet, the head of Belgium's independent asylum review board, at a roundtable meeting with ministers including Australian Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock this afternoon. But he said the plan could be extended worldwide.

Please.

All you have to do is add fingerprint and photo ID to every credit card and there are your biometrics

Talk about an invasion of Privacy !! I have a better Idea, implant the Murders, Thieves, Pedophiles, Terrorists, Keep track of the Bad guys .... these are the ones we need to keep track of.

They are the ones who should lose their privacy. If after 5 or ten years after their release/probation, the chip can be removed. Make it part of the sentencing. We have job creation also in people tracking stations.

How do we pay for it, well prison sentences could be reduced, maybe we could do away with prisons. House arrest would really mean something, they could stay at home or be limited to home and place of work. If they go outside of it, HEY they get an extremely sharp and painful eletronic shock via the chip implanted in their ASS !!! until they return within their legal zone. !!

Unauthorized removal of the chip, would result in a release of a toxic substance, needing medical attention. Of course Hard Core criminals caould remain incarcerated, but still be implanted in case of excape.

Any ideas, I mean why should we lose our privacy !??

last I checked, nobody forces anyone to get a credit card, a bank card, or implants, give fingerprints (unless you break the law), etc.
You do in fact, have a choice not to get any of those things.
You are required to have ID of some sort, birth certificate and/or social security number, and you must pay taxes, but even some people don't pay those.

HTML link SNAFU. Caspian org is the leading org on RFID watch. Basically no debate is being made on public and private privacy matters. There are two issues, inventory and people watching. Prominent figures think (the little) people should be considered inventory so chipping is a good idea to keep an eye on 'em.

Digital Angel, which manufactures the VeriChip "Big Brother" biochip licensed by Applied Digital for human applications, appears to be bailing out of Applied Digital.
