Dixie Chicks: ‘Boycott Sinclair’
In what they call a "Sinclair Media Alert,” the country group The Dixie Chicks have called for a boycott of Sinclair Broadcasting for using "their monopoly rights to the public airwaves ... to sway the election in favor of a candidate that staunchly allows media companies to get even bigger.”
The Chicks characterize radio giant Clear Channel as using "its power to promote a pro-Republican, pro-war agenda,” and then proceed to compare Sinclair with Clear Channel. "Now we have a giant television company that is making Clear Channel's antics look like a day at the beach,” the Chicks' Website declares.
The Chicks also provide some legal analysis for their fans, maintaining that Sinclair’s plans to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal” on its 62 stations constitutes a "clear violation of the spirit of the law.”
The Chicks punctuate their alert saying, "during the past week there has been a massive backlash, and Sinclair is on the defensive. They are on the ropes and we need you to help us keep them there.”
I thought the Dixie Chicks were against boycotts..?
Didn't they say boycotts are a form of censorship and are un-American?

I didn't here this since I'm boycotting the Dixie Chicks. Well, I didn't like their music anyway.
Now, let me see if I have this straight. Only the Dixie Chicks have a right to express there opinion or to try to sway an election? Isn't this the same gaggle that is trying to sway the elections with their concert tour?

The very DAY I bought the Dixie chicks CD was the day they made their famous statement. I returned it without having opening it and got my money back. Never again...
The Dixie Chicks CD I had was snapped in two long ago and any time I hear one of their songs come on the radio I switch the station.
Where were these Dim nits when 60 minutes aired its fake guard story and Nightline ran its attack on the swift boat vets? Typical with lib Dims, if something airs they agree with, it is okay. But if the other side airs something they don't like, they cry foul.
Do a search here.... there was a post yesterday that said general Foods was not going to back out and they posted a letter saying so.

I can’t remember which MSM was interviewing Bush shortly after the Dixie Chicks fiasco, but his answer was perfect.
It was essentially that the Dixie Chicks absolutely have the right to say anything they want – and the American public has the right to not buy their albums. Wish I had the exact quote, but it was pricesless.
Like anyone listens to these washed up Anti-American sl*ts anymore, Liberal, Anti-American, Kerry supporters excluded.

Kinda hypocritical on their part. They moaned and groaned when they were boycotted. Strange how people's minds work.
