Please excuse the double post
He's an unprincipled scumbag. We don't need him.
Perhaps he heard about Kerry being excommunicated and, being a "good" Catholic, he is stunned.
"This guy is a phony and is not worth my time, I stopped watching after his initial comments about the swiftvets"
Ooops...hold on a sec...let's see if he trashes the swifties again- he's about to have Brinkley on saying he's "investigated" the swifties...wonder what he's going to say...
When Rush was under fire, his fans came out in droves to support him. It's because Rush never sold us out.
We may yet find out if he is really trying to get back in the good graces of his conservative audience. If the SBVT segment is pro-Swift vets, he's turned back.
If it is yet another pro-Kerry hit piece against the Swift vets, then I say good riddance - tonight is the last night.
I was thinking today that O'Reilly's 'legal problems' might give Kerry an excuse to refuse to do an interview.
I agree if he isn't jerking someone's chain then he is just jerking off...he is the ultimate self centered "it's all about me" jerk...
I agree O'Reilly is a blowhard but considering he gets the ratings, even more so since the scandal, then if he rallys behind President Bush so much the better. I'm sure he's ticked Kerry changed his mind about coming on his show as there was a rumor he would.
So watch him till after the election then drop him.
Of course, I've believed he was going to support Bush all along, but he was trying to be fair.
He is also going to ride out this sexual harrassment charge.
Also, remember that John O'Neill told O'Reilly that his interview was fair. That was what O'Neill said. He didn't say that to Ted Koppel, or Katie Couric.
The OReilly Factor originally appealed to me because it was one of the very few semi-conservative prime time news programs on TV, but I now consider Bill OReilly to be far more liberal than conservative. For the past two years, I have regularly watched his show and frequently disagreed with the positions he took on a number of issues. I put up with his misperceptions only because I considered it to be nothing more than that we had differences of opinion. However, when recently, he repeatedly attacked the legitimacy of the Vietnam War while attacking the Swift Boat Veterans credibility, I detected a deeper more perverse motive for his negative opinion of the Vietnam War and its veterans. I am now of the opinion that Bill OReilly is nothing more than a Vietnam era draft dodger and anti-war activist of the John F. Kerry ilk.
Bill O'Reilly is so typical of the many later-day flower children who now proclaim patriotism, but only because they think their age prevents them from being sent into harms way. His praise for our military and the war in Iraq is understandable and correct. But for him to attack the Vietnam War and its veterans in the same breath is, I believe, only a feeble attempt by him to assuage his conscience for his shameful conduct during the Vietnam War.
Bill O'Reilly must now realize that his actions during the Vietnam War as an anti-war activist gave our enemy aid, comfort, and the encouragement to extend the war, causing the death of thousands of American fighting men. These deaths must weigh heavily on his conscience and cause him to attack the legitimacy of the Vietnam War at every opportunity. For Bill O'Reilly and his ilk, the Vietnam War must remain unjustifiable, its veterans must remain hapless victims to be pitied, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice must have died for nothing. For Bill OReilly to say otherwise would be for him to admit to treason.
We Vietnam veterans have ignored these people for well over thirty years, as we continued with our lives after the war and had neither the time nor the desire to respond to their slander. I believe it is now time to return fire. We owe it to the memory of our fallen comrades to call to task these Vietnam era cowards, but present day patriots, and force them to either explain their actions, apologize for their scurrilous conduct, or shut up.
Good analysis. Thank you for your service to our country.
I agree, my husband is a Viet vet and he never seemed to have any hard feelings about anything from then. Now, though, after seeing how everyone(especially Kerry) are treating the Swift Boat Vets, he is really getting angry.
He doesn't say much, that is why I am on here, not him, but he did say the other day. "You know if that SOB Kerry wins, the people I will feel most sorry for are the SBVT because they have been screwed by Kerry once, now twice, and even have to call him CIC and President".
O just let Brinkley slam and slime Swiftie Adm. Hoffman...
O told viewers to go but the "Tour of Duty" book if they want to learn more about Kerry.
It was sickening. Bill just spit in the face of the Swifties.....and he used one of Kerry's pals to do it.
Also, you know that if Jenjis John loses, BOR will say it was because sKerry wouldn't come on BOR's show.
Wake up! For the last year and a half you've been getting the real O'Reilly and now you know the rest of the story.
