How is Bush doing in your state?

Posted on 10/16/2004 4:45:52 PM PDT by wolfman23507

I live in the most liberal part of Norfolk, Virginia and he is actually not doing so bad here. Kerry probably wins Norfolk 60/40 (which is not so bad considering the high black population). I work in Virginia Beach and it is the opposite. I am a 7-Eleven field consultant and we cannot keep Bush coffee cups in stock and I won't let my stores put out only Kerry cups. My parents live in Newport News and the Bush signs and bumper stickers outnumber the Kerry stuff by my guess of 9-1. For those who tell you it is close in Virginia, I don't believe it. At least in the Hampton Roads area, Gore had more support than Kerry does. I attend all major festivals in the area and the Kerry support just is not here.

Doing great in Tennessee. As a matter of fact, in our very liberal newspaper last week the editor writes a column and he was whining about his vote not counting cause TN was already going to Bush and neither Bush nor Kerry would come here cause Kerry had already lost here and Bush wasn't worried about Tn. Wah wah wah. I think he wants to get rid of electoral votes. Than his vote really won't count.

That is so heartwarming and uplifting! Reminds me of when we all stood along the highway all across town and told our National Gaurd goodbye when they left to go to Iraq last July. They were waving and so happy to see us wishing them well.

I am east of Pittsburgh (Westmoreland County). According to the local newspapers/tv polls Bush is up 2 points then down 2 points...statistically it is supposedly a dead heat here (PA)...but, anecdotally, there are way more Republican signs (for the local and state level races) and Bush/Cheney signs are a premium...you just can't get...so I have seen several large, homemade, 4 x 8 sheets of plywood painted for Bush/Cheney...nothing at all like that for sKerry (his campaign yard signs are a rare sighting). PA WILL BE A RED STATE THIS TIME!!!

"whats Lazio doing now ?"
Lazio still active in state politics. He really never stood a chance against a celebrity candidate. Not to mention, Hillary was heavily bankrolled by outside interests.

Oh, I think we both know who it will be. ;-) I don't read it anymore because I'm sick of the bias. Do you have kids in school? We are thinking of moving out to Hickory, but we're concerned about the overcrowding in the schools.

Just finished a road trip from southern Arkansas to Laplace La. and returned home.

I traveled interstate and other highways through Arkansas,Louisiana and Mississippi.

I saw absolutely NO Kerry signs or bumper stickers, but plenty of Bush and other Republican Senate candidates represented.

I spend a great deal of time listening to the radio and on WWL radio in New Orleans they were finishing up a poll that had Bush up bigtime over Kerry. (something like 72-25)

It was the total lack of Kerry advertising that really caught my eye.

My daughter went to Hickory High, she just graduated from VCU, so that was a few years ago. It was a good school. My son started at Southeastern...yanked him out in 2nd grade. He's goes to private school now. Maybe some of the other elementary schools are good and maybe I just had the world's worst teacher. I've lived here my whole life and I will live no where else.

My daughter will begin high school next year and I don't want her to go to Indian River.

Hickory isn't building up too much for you?

Hickory is building up, no doubt. My family moved here in '64 and I sure miss all my cows and cornfields. I would avoid Indian River if you can.
