Rock the Vote pushes more draft lies

Via Drudge, but all commentary is mine.

Rock the Vote is back pushing the Draft lie. It has teamed up with Bobby Muller of Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and Alliance for Security ( http://www.allianceforsecurity.org/). Muller is a left-wing anti-war activist. He was on Hannity and Colmes tonight and pushed the lie that those that served with Kerry (on his boat) all support Kerry and none of the Swift Boat Vets served with Kerry (as if fighting in the same battle while being on another swift boat ten feet away from Kerry's boat, living in the same base camp, and belonging to the same military unit does not qualify as "serving with"). Muller also lied that Nixon was impeached, and seemed to suggest the impeachment had something to do with Vietnam. Muller seems to believe Nixon is the source of all that was wrong with Vietnam.

Rock the Vote has produced a hideous TV ad, where a early 20-something guy is at a party dancing with a girl and says he just got a great job (how did he do that in the Bush economy?). To that the girl says what if you are drafted for "the war" (implication: Iraq). This thing is scaremongering at its best. Rock the Vote encourages people to download the video or audio of the ad, and "Ask your school/community radio or TV station to play this PSA every day between now and November 2nd."

The RNC has issued a cease and desist letter to Rock the Vote on Wednesday, October 13th. Rock the Vote respsonded with a disrepectiful letter Thursday.

Muller and Jehmu Greene of Rock the Vote published a scaremongering Op-Ed Thursday in the Tallahasee FL paper. It is linked from the Alliance for Security site.

They claim the recent vote on Representative Rangel's bill was a "transparently phony vote". They do this to discredit a serious defeat of a serious bill. They discredit it because it was a Democrat draft bill, and therefore, it was just a political stunt. The implied message is the draft is a real possiblity, and the Democrats oppose it, as demonstrated by Rangel's PR stunt bill, and Republicans are the ones who will bring the draft back.

It is clear Rock the Vote is not a "non-partisan" organization only seeking to register young voters. They are in fact a organization with a clear political agenda, and are not interested in the truth if it gets in their way.

This really upsets me because they are playing around kids who really don't understand they are being conned.

The deceit being directed at these kids is pure evil and it will all fall back on those who are producing it IMO!
