Ted Nugent?! That rocks!
And when Ron Silver shows up, DO let us know!
When Ron Silver shows up EVERYONE will know because I will pass out and die from shear joy.
Did you see that I have a link on my website that goes directly to the video of his convention speech? Powerful stuff.
How exciting!
And now for something completely different - and scary!
ROSEANNE has nothing but bile for tubby TV talkmeister Dr. Phil: "I want to go on record and say that I hate Dr. Phil and I would fight a grudge match with him if I were a wrestler," she rants to Chaunce Hayden's Steppin' Out magazine.
"Dr. Phil is just a used car salesman with barnyard psychology. [Does anyone know what this means?] Once he turns off those cameras, nobody does anything that he says. He's a fat slob talking about how to lose weight. Who wants to hear that? . . . I just hate Dr. Phil and his wife! I shouldn't go off like this, but he's just so stupid and the cause of the dumbing down of America. [We thought it was the NEA, go figure]
It's so purely evident if you just watch five minutes of this guy. He's just a huckster used car salesman, scam artist . . . I'd like to knock the [bleep] out of him! Dr. Phil is Hitler! I think he's Hitler reincarnated!
When Dr. Phil and his wife had President Bush and his wife on their show, it was probably the scariest thing ever seen on television."
Roseanne also ruminates on turning 50: "I do miss PMS it was the only time of the month I could be myself." [You mean this wasn't a PMS-induced rant? Yikes!] (Page Six)
I keep waiting....and waiting....and waiting...for the Ron Silver "Democrats for Bush" ads.
This would be such a powerful theme for the home stretch: Silver, Ed Koch, Zell Miller. Look at that--coast to coast, region to region...except that we need someone from your neck of the woods. Wasn't there some Dem mayor up your way who came out for Bush?
Anyway, Ron Silver ROCKS and the Bush team should use all of them more. If I were Rove the only talking point I would assign them would be "Hate has overtaken my party's senses".
That hate can be related to their nonsense on the war, their disdain for conservatives, and their intolerance for anyone who disagrees with them. It would be powerful stuff.
Yuck, a Gore trying to be funny - not a pretty sight:
'ONE OF my favorite 'operations' was 'Operation Just Cause.' Whenever I heard it, I had acted out a little dia logue in my head. 'Why are we invading this country?' one voice would say. 'Just cause,' the other would reply. Clearly, the government could do a better naming job."
So writes new author Kristin Gore in her charming novel about life as a congressional aide and on the campaign trail. Her fresh fiction "Sammy's Hill" is a delightful read and right up there in the hot "chick lit" genre, but this one has brains.
If you like Bridget Jones and girls of that ilk, you'll love Kristin's heroine, Samantha, a hypochondriac and insecure, upwardly mobile smartie looking for love in all of Washington's wrong places.
Yes, author Gore is the daughter of former Veep Al Gore. But if you're a Republican, don't hold that against her book. It's a really wonderful read.

So here is his early morning email to me.
Sometimes you can make government computers work for you. At least they act faithfully and give everyone the same answer. You people that seek to have these folks positions are you going to play the Hear no Evil, See no Evil and speak no evil game as well? Jeez I gave you a very interesting clue about how I can prove John Kerry is not worthy of the Public Trust.
As of yet not one of you has responded. Could it be because someone told you not to because I can prove Mr. Bush is worse? Please review what I sent you and never forget that allow I am just a Canadian, I have the same rights as you under Title 42 Sec 1981 & 1982 etc etc. Am I the only one willing to speak up in the defense of your Rights and demand that the Public Trust be upheld and malevolent authorities be held accountable?
Most of you are not encumbents I threw in some to spice up the stew. This is you chance to sweep public corruption from the congress for at least maybe a day or two. Someone might as well speak up because I am emailing the World.
What planet are you folks from?

Hey Johnny You should really think about what you just sent me and review what I sent you. Then ask your help to explain Rule 9 of the Code of Ethics that was made law about 1958 or so Title 18 sec 1001 or Title 28 sec 530b can enlighten you as well.
I can send you a summons to court from any of every US District Court and you would have to answer me then or pay a great amount of relief.
At least I thank you for acknowledging what you received. Whether you read it or not is not my fault. You can never deny you got it. My address is clearly stated within the tif files attached.
The same holds true for you too Denny Boy.
Why don't you all just pick up the phone and ask H. Marshaal Jarrett or Michael E. Shaheen to go Mr. Raines' New School of Ethics? Maybe they can learn some new tricks to teach all you dudes in Congress. I am bored with the standard operating proceedure give me something new to ponder or get honest. Will ya?
Cya'll in Court:)

No thanks to Kristin Gore's book. I'm currently reading David McCullough's bio of John (and Abigail) Adams. It's striking how his challenges were so similar to the problems we face today: French perfudy, hyper-partisanship, and the appeasement crowd.
As France pounded the drums of war, Adams' opponents shreiked with horror at every proposal to build up a U.S. Navy. "You'll make them mad! You'll start a war!" they would cry. Adams eventually released classified dispatches revealing that French Minister Tallyrand was demanding bribes for himself and no-interest loans to France to "mend the rift caused by the U.S. president's insults to France". That shut up the opposition and caused a swelling of support for Adams. The opponents then changed their tunes and accused Adams of using war to increase his popularity. Sound familiar? James Carville would have fit very well in their circle. (I'm sorry to say it was Thomas Jefferson who filled the Carville role.)
Eventually, of course, France invaded and the U.S. was very well served by having invested in a Navy.
He opens with his usal daily riffs about life with a 3-year-old daughter. Totally delightful...he writes beautifully about everyday life.
His political anaysis, though, is the absolute best repsonse I've seen to Effin's stupid "nuisance" remark. (For just the political comments, scroll down past the fall-foliage picture.)
We have to get back to the place we were. And forget all weve learned and done? We have to get back to the place we were. No. I dont want to go back there. Planes into towers. That changed the terms. I am remarkably disinterested in returning to a place where such things are unimaginable. Where our nighmares are their dreams.Read it all: The BleatWe have to get back to the place we were.
No. We have to go the place where they are!
You people that seek to have these folks positions are you going to play the Hear no Evil, See no Evil and speak no evil game as well?

What does this mean?
Thanks.
I think he means that since we won't open up his attachments that we are ignoring him.
My email volume is incredible. I don't have time for crazy people and I don't open anything for anyone that I don't know.
Laura better watch out with her back to Mama T like that..
It must be another dem cover up.
OK - thanks.
It's not a mystery why more decent people don't choose to run for public office, if this is their reward.
The storyline in the media is about to become: In a race this close, as we enter the final stage, both men will resort to below-the-belt negative personal campaigning.
It seems to me, Bush would be well served to fake Kerry out on this. Start running ads with Laura at his side, speaking right into the camera about the future he envisions for America. I would even suggest that, for every negative thing Kerry says, answer him in one of these ads.
(Is my Pollyana side showing?)

Something for the candidates to think about.
Introducing, Mr. and Mrs. Tiger Woods...(Tiger is having such a great time on his honeymoon he may not be back for the next tournament) LINK
She shore is purty!
Mort came back with well Bush promised $100 million for stem cell research and he has only funded $25 million. Dr. K came back with the fact that science had run out of ideas and were not funded more because they had not presented credible proposals for more. Grant proposals are judged by peer review so it is hard to argue with Dr. K. If science could come up with more worthy proposals, they WOULD be funded up to $100 million as W promised.
Edwards is so slimy. He was on CNN on Sunday and Wolf asked him if he had brought up the fact that Mary Cheney is gay just to make sure that the Far Right know this and Edwards was appalled that people would think that (he is so nice, doncha know)..he said his statement was heartfelt...yeah, right.
