Can anyone tell me if registered Dems are allowed to attend Bush/Cheney rallies? I'm attending one tomorrow and have been barraged with complaints from Dem co-workers who claim that they were not allowed in to see "their president" (snicker)...
Thank you!
They cannot attend because they refuse to pay the bill for the police wagon that usually has to haul them away.....(chuckle)....
I would not let the losers come near me either. Just more of the trouble-making, low-lifes.
I agree but they act like they are entitled to see GWB. And while I do not think the girl I work with would cause problems, I want to be able to rebut her "since we are paying for his security why can't we see him" argument. Since when do they care what the gov't does with their money anyway?
Good one!
Well, at least they admit that Bush is "their president" now. Thank them for getting over the "illegitimate President" hissy fit.
As if Clinton, Gore, and Kerry don't screen their audiance. Give me a break. How many Bush supporters have you ever seen at a Kerry rally???
Since rallies are paid for by the campaign, though, they do have a right to give tickets out to whomever they please.
You do have to obtain the tickets in advance via the local Republican HQ. And they can check your voter's registration since that's info any committeeman can obtain through the county.
But I've attended a number of rallies for Bush and Cheney here in FL in 2000 and I've often found myself seated next to or standing in line next to Democrats and independents.
If you have an active Republican friend you can gain admission.
Of course, for the most part these rallies are repetitious and you can hear the same speeches on C-Span over and over at different campaign rallies with rallies differing only because of different local politicians and other speakers introducing the main candidate plus if you watch them on C-Span you don't have to stand in line.
Of course, if you plan on toting in a sign declaring your love for Saddam Hussein and a megaphone to shout the famous universal liberal slogan "f**** you" people might not appreciate it and might hogtie you and drag you back to your car along the roughest portion of a gravel road for rudely interrupting their [not your] party. Some liberals find this more exciting than sex and just can't help themselves. That's OK, some of us conservatives like steer roping events. ;-)
My first question to her, was, why do you want to go? you know Bush is preaching to the choir. Do you want to be surrounded by Republicans? i figured that would make her skin crawl.
Since we are probably paying for most liberals' educations, why can't we see their grades?
Since we are probably paying for many poor liberals' housing and food stamps, why can't we walk in their house and check out the contents of their refrigerators (not that we really care to see all that King Cobra Malt Liquor and Kool Aid?)
I thought Gore was "their president" (guffaw)!!
Yea, because my wife is registered democrat but is a conservative. She gets called all the time to help out and attend GOP events.
Oh dip!
I heard that slanted Nina Totenberg story this morning too. The people they were keeping out were wearing Kerry T-Shirts or other Pro-Kerry items.
I bet if I showed up at a Kerry rally wearing my Bush/Cheney baseball cap and carrying my Bush/Cheney sign, I wouldn't get past the gate.
In case the banned fool is reading this. They screen Kerry rallies. The Secret Service is tasked with protecting both candidates.
I can't wait until November 2.
